Divo growled deeply at Derrick. The other werewolf had no right to tell him what to do. As the alpha didn't have a human mate, he could hardly understand the dangers.
"Easy there Divo, you might end up scaring your girl if you keep doing that. Not to mention I don't think that my pups like your attitude very much and I prefer to keep my pack in a rather calm state. True to Derrick's word, the pups shifted to crowd around and hide behind their alpha, peering around him with ears flat and tails tucked.
"You shouldn't go around scaring the young ones, Divo." Celeste's scold came as a surprise to everyone in the room. She may not have known much about werewolves but it didn't take a genius to know how children worked from one species to the next. Celeste extended her hand and touched the larger werewolf's shoulder, feeling as Divo tensed at the unexpected action.
