Celeste was met by an unexpected sight when she got to work. Jen was there sitting at the front counter and staring at the door rather expectantly.
She didn't know if her friend noticed her as she approached the coffee house, but Celeste wanted to do nothing more than sink away and hide. She had totally forgotten that she was supposed to call her friend again after she got home. It wasn't her fault that odd things had happened that distracted her from doing it.
She knew though that there was no way for her to avoid Jen. She couldn't suddenly call in sick after assuring Edgar she would be able to come to work without a hitch despite the unexpected circumstance she found herself in.
The best the little human could would be to walk into her workplace and act like nothing was wrong and see how Jen responded.
Donovan had already left anyway so it wasn't like she could rely on the other to take her away to avoid the situation until her friend left.
