For me, though I have absolute power as the only author of the novel but I still could not do much to make his love a thing since his identity of unknown-origin beast that becomes a servant, drags his love story a lot compared to other male leads. That's one of the reasons I made to rationale my mind whenever Wolf's parts with female lead become continuous doom.
Even so, I still have lots of respect to Wolf, he is still optimistic and loyal at to extent during the female lead is left alone during the climax of the novel which is also the chapter of his last appearance.
The climax chapter, which an unrequited love leads to a noble ending to the most sweetest supportive male lead sinks thousands of readers' hearts. His love to the female lead, the one who cares for him in his lonely world, is needed to be paid by him sacrificing at the hand of major villain, who is also one of the male leads, harshly in front of the female lead.
Sad ending to Wolf brings a lot of criticism from readers directly to me, the author. It is normal tho if characters they love suffered or died because of the cruel arrangement of author.
To be honest I feel bad too and want to curse myself. He is undoubtedly the sweetest and highly optimistic though his entire life is not actual beautiful. (Plus to put icing on the top, his perfect figure that I train him to be so according to my taste of man, is such a waste if he died)
He knows his master is the most wanted criminal of empire and even got targeted by assassin group as she got betrayed internally, but he still looks at his master in pure look. He becomes female lead's shield until the end of his life.
But I have a solid reason too to why I have to take his life quickly. At first I am reluctant and wants to observe carefully, but at the end I confirm it.
That is the most cruelest and regrettable action I did as behind the scene of novel, I admit. Since then I hastily fasten the falling action and resolution parts of the novel with the female lead, Ava achieves her 'happily ever after' ending.
