'While Ais and the others entered the Dungeon again, another group made its way deeper…'

/Somewhere on the 49th floor…/

'Within a huge patch of land where no grass or trees grew, a desolate land composed of rocks and sand that seemed half burnt due to their reddish-brown color, a group of people stared at the horizon with mixed expressions, if their faces weren't hidden by helmets or scarfs...'

'A land devoid of life, a place that seemed frozen in time after a great disaster, dark fumes rose onto the ceiling from cracks on the ground, so far above even clouds formed in this endless abyss.'

'A floor large enough to fit a Kingdom and its surroundings within, a place big enough to be taken as a world, yet no monsters could be seen for km on end.'

'Molten rivers of magma flowed throughout this land, and some cracks on the ground grew in faint red light…'

'This was Moytura, the 49th floor, home for the Monster Rex Balor.'

(No image)

"Tche, barely enough for me to call it a warm-up, what's all this fuckery about?" A cat man grunted on the side, clutching his spear as he walked forward, its tip had blood dripping from it

'Perhaps the reason there were no monsters here was because... They killed them all.'

"Where's the fucker? Don't tell me some no-name son of a bitch ended it before us."

'Next to him were 7 adventurers consisting of two Elves, a light, and dark elf, one Boars, and 4 Pallums.'

'The air around them was extremely tense as if they were about to bite each other, however, their focus seemed to be elsewhere.'

"I believe there aren't any Familias capable of coming this far, much less taking it down."

"Unless we presume the Braver, together with Nine Hell and Elgarm succeeded in eliminating it during their most recent expedition." An elf with white skin deduced as he adjusted his glasses

'He looked like a calm person, different from the beast cat that had an awful personality and facial expression.'

"That does seem possible, but wouldn't it be way outside of their current capabilities?" One of the Pallums asked calmly

"The Loki Familia is indeed inept to come to these depts right now, however, it shouldn't be impossible for an elite team to make it all the way here, they aren't that incapable…"

The question is whether or not Braver would risk it, even if he could defeat it, he isn't someone to go out of his way like that.

He's someone that loves to stick to his plans after all.

"FUCK! Then does it mean…"

/Twitch!/

'Just as the cat boy started complaining once more, his ears twitched, turning towards a location.'

'Not only his but the ears of the one next to him did also.'

'The extremely tall and menacing Boars!'

"It's coming." Ottar said as he clutched onto the handle of his large blade

"Get out of the way meathead! This one's mine!" Allen declared as he held his spear, pulling it from the ground

"Who said so?" One of the Pallum warriors asked

"Are you out of your mind?" The other Guliver brother said

"Do you want to die?"

'The Pallum brothers started sending insults at the cat, calling him all sorts of things for his arrogancy.'

"Everyone…"

'The last of the Guliver quadruplets tried to reason with his brothers, but they were all bickering with the cat.'

"You bunch of bottle corks, barely First Class and yet you want to bicker? Grow up a little and fuck off while you're at it!"

""##!!""

'With that insult, even the eldest and most composed of the four got his face trembling with red rage from behind his helmet's visor.'

'This rage was famous amidst the other brothers, who were quick to take a step back before they made him even more pissed off.'

"This is, by far, the worst time to bicker." Hedin, the white elf, replied with a focused gaze as he scolded the cat boy

"If you truly want to die… Then be my guest, fewer problems for me to worry about."

"As for you four, don't you think it's too soon for you all to be stepping out? That isn't confidence, its recklessness."

Facing Balor alone is a foolish endeavor, even if...

It should prove to be a great challenge, though even then... Why do I feel so...

'Heidin did not care if they died or not, in fact, it would mean one less competitor.'

'However, he did care about how his goddess would feel, and at the thought of the promise he made to her, he would have everyone return alive and intact.'

""...""

'The Pallum brothers didn't need to be reminded, they knew where they were and why they came here in the first place.'

'For them who were recent Level 5s, being this deep in the Dungeon is a miracle in itself.'

'The 49th floor was full to the brim with Fomoires, goat-like Humanoid monsters whose strength is at a minimum Level 4, and they form huge armies composed of hundreds.'

'They might be elites among the Level 5s, capable of fighting a Level 6 when together, but that didn't mean they could pass on as one, their individual energy was still that of a Level 5, even if the work is divided amidst them.'

'Their insane resilience and will to not be left behind by their companions pushed them forward to be here in this hellish place, even if their status had been reduced to that of a supporter of some kind.'

'Above all, it was already impressive they had managed to come this far without fighting each other.'

'Ever since the conception of the Freya Familia, the number of times they managed to hold an expedition like this one could be counted on two hands.'

'All the other times resulted in either an early end or a scold from the Guild due to misconduct or some other problem.'

'Because every time they gathered to dive, they would always fight each other… Regardless of where they were or time.'

'To the point, they would even fight inside a shop if they looked at each other wrong.'

'This came from their desire to become the person their Goddess wished to nurture, the champion, the Einherjar, a Title not even given to Ottar, the King.'

'To receive her love and individual attention, they fought each other continuously.'

'Their reasons for doing so vary, with Ottar being the only one that actually trains for a reason that might as well be higher than his own Goddess, as he understands the need for power.'

'For that purpose, and his honor, Ottar never started a fight on his own, or at least, he knew where or when to act, but the same can't be said for the others, as they always manage to drag him into trouble.'

'As the one above all, Ottar is always on the receiving end of challenges, as it has been years since he last issued a challenge on his own.'

'And when he did, he leveled up to 7, and that was the day he became King.'

'For that reason, Ottar will never refuse a challenge, as those of the past are gone, and it's now his turn to be like them.'

'But then again, accepting a challenge in the middle of Babel's Plaza isn't exactly sensible...'

'Since the day they were all scolded by Freya for causing trouble, the number of problems they caused outside of the domains of her Manor was reduced to a round 0.'

'But this didn't extend to the Dungeon.'

'This time, because of a collective will to get strong, they all "gathered" together, albeit, the appropriate wording might be, they competed to see who could go the furthest.'

'Amphisbaena and Udeaus have been killed, together with the Goliath, so the next target would be…'

'The Piercing Eye, Balor!'

(Image?)

'Now, the problem is… Who would fight it?'

'Balor is by no means an easy opponent, Ottar himself can't guarantee victory despite never facing it alone before, and it was doubtful if he would be able to face it today…'

'Amidst the 3 Level 6s and Level 7 present, who would be the one to face it… Alone?'

'Worst of all were the 4 Pallum warriors that had little to no say in the matter because, at the end of the day, they were only Level 5… Yet their egos didn't allow them to stay silent.'

"I won't fucking repeat myself!" Allen exclaimed as he took a step forward, only to be blocked by Hedin's Rhomphaia

"What do you think you're doing four eyes?" Allen asked with a fierce expression

"Preventing you from killing yourself in a foolish way."

"This is more for her esteemed happiness than for mine, as I do not care for what becomes of you, though it would greatly pain me to be the carrier of such devastating news."

He then took out his weapon from his way.

"Though if you may insist on moving forward, then by all means do so, I shall relay your demise together with whatever remains of your corpse."

'Allen's face twisted.'

"One more word…"

"It's here." Ottar interrupted as he stared at a distant mountain range

'They blabbered so much with each other that the monster had made its way to them in no time…'

/SHAAAAAAAAA!/

/BOOOOOOOOM!/

'A piercing beam of dark purple light took over the skies as the mountain vanished from the horizon...'

'Its light so glaring the entire floor was overshadowed by its sheen...'

'And after it vanished, smoke covered the entire floor as a testimony to the beam's firepower.'

/ROAAARRR!/

'The distant roars of a terrific beast echoed on the reddish plains, the beast had arrived.'

"..."

"Still think you can take it down on your own?" Hedin said with a grave expression

Little words can testify to this monster's true power.

It always makes me think about the fact there were once stronger beings out there, some of which were killed in a single strike...

"FUCK OFF!"

'And with that, Allen rushed forward to meet with the grotesque monster.'

'Balor, just like Udaeus was devoid of legs.'

'It was a disgustingly red monster that seemed half molten, it resembled a dragon that had its lower body melted into a puddle of flesh.'

'Two arms supported its body and at the end of its torso, an amalgamation of thorns and scales supported its body like the roots of a tree, they moved at an unbelievably fast speed, so much so the Gulivar brothers had difficulty tracking the beast down with their eyes, something that greatly frustrated them.'

'To think that despite its size, the only thing they could properly see was the dust it left behind as it moved forward…'

'Weak, too weak! This was the difference between them and it!'

'While they were mere Level 5 adventurers, the creature in front of them was a bonified Level 7 Boss monster! Perhaps the strongest monster currently known...'

/ROAAAAAAAAR!/

/CRUMBLE!/

'Balor's mighty roar shook the entirety of the floor, making even the ceiling crack and the dust hills to shatter.'

'It was this roar that made the warriors of the Goddess of beauty realize what they were facing, a monster of unbelievable levels.'

'The very reason why most parties merely went past this floor in a hurry...'

'Ignored by most, it was now time to face it down like real adventurers!'

/FWOOSH!/

/FWOOSH!/

'Who cared who would go first, right now, all they wanted was to deal the last blow!'

'As they rushed forward, one of them, the only one that had yet to utter a single word spoke:'

"Yet again, at the throat of darkness, I descend to seek my fated destiny." He said as he pulled up his black longsword, Victim Abyss

"M-May my dark edge carve away your flesh in the shape of my..."

""Shut up Hogni."" They all replied in coordination, with the exception of Ottar, who couldn't be bothered to say anything

/ROARRRRR!/

/Let's go back to a few days ago… To the day Hestia went to visit Ouranos…/

"... And she's gone." Ouranos muttered in a low tone as his gaze grew even more serene...

/Silence…/

'That was the last thing he said, making the room return to complete silence, not even the torches seemed to make a noise.'

"Ouranos-Sama." A voice echoed from the darkness

"You're here Fels, did something happen? I expected you much earlier than this." He said with a certain hint of surprise

"My apologies but I went to converse with God Hermes and then collect what the side troops gathered, hence my slight delay."

My momentary stop to speak with adventurer Silver was also slightly out of the schedule I'm afraid.

"Is that so?..."

"Is something on your mind?" Fels asked as she stepped out from the dark

"Only that... The lower world is full of surprises."

"I'm afraid I have yet to see everything it can provide."

"... !"

'Out of nowhere, Ouranos stood up from his seat.'

"O-Ouranos!..."

'His gaze was still the same, but now, he had one of his arms holding his robes as he stepped down quietly.'

"I'll be taking my leave for a while, don't worry as my departure won't affect the prayers at all."

'He slowly descended from his high spot, and for the first time in centuries, he stood face to face with Fels.'

"There is something I need to confirm."

"It is… More of a curiosity of mine, but I can't demote its importance either, I hope you may forgive me for my lack of responsibility." Ouranos said as he dropped his head

"O-Ouranos-Sama!"

'He seemed to smile slightly.'

/Crack!/

'His hand moved to the side, and a spark of light ignited within the darkness.'

"Give me a moment, I'll be back soon, make sure no one enters this room in the meantime."

"If someone were to realize I left, if even for a moment…"

Especially if it's...

'Ouranos vanished as the white light overtook the room, leaving a flabbergasted Fels behind.'

"Just…"
