A few days, that's all they had agreed on. Yet, it was almost a week now since they left in such a hurried state. Kai and Lila were in their wolf form as they ran around chasing butterflies.
It was mostly Lila doing so. He stayed a few steps behind just to watch her and what a sight that was. He now knew what her giggles sounded like.
He was familiar with her guffaws and even playful growls. He felt a little sad as today would be their last day in this place.
The cave has somehow become their shelter. A sort of haven away from home. It becomes their private place where the purest of memories were made.
Lila stopped running and looked around her only to find Kai's gaze glued to her. A naughty idea came to mind instantly.
