In an underground dungeon, painful howls filled the air. Every few minutes, the screeching of the wall could be hard as though they were being scratched by a sharp object.
Then silence. Sometime later, painful groans would follow, ricocheting off the walls. Whimpers, grunts and growls all in one.
The sight accompanying those sounds was more pitiful inducing a sense of empathy in the onlooker. Thea watched Lucas suffer through the monitoring screen.
She watched the man she dedicated her life to suffer for the first time. The bloody spot surrounding him sent her body into a spasm.
To her dismay, she hated it. She hated how despite what she made herself believe, her heart still aches for him. Seeing Lucas in pain wasn't as easy to swallow as she had thought.
It ripped her heart into pieces making it bleed. Not so long ago, she had herself convinced. Even if she saw him die, she wouldn't flinch.
