Next day, Early in the morning Adam had already woken up. He had some strange dream last night but he could not recall what it was so he didn't care about it. He still had some great quality sleep, maybe because he was very tired from all those things that had happened yesterday.
Adam was feeling really calm and fresh. He didn't notice it but somehow he had some changes overnight. His eyes were no longer as restless and excited as they always were, but they rather had a strange calmness in them. These changes were occurring to not just him but Hermione's mind had also underwent some changes that she did not know of or could not know of, just like how Adam was oblivious to his changes.
Last night Adam had already decided to do everything he could do to increase his strength. Adam chose to start walking on his way of becoming stronger from the thing he had with him for nearly 10 months. Previously his system was mostly locked so he could not check its functions properly. And when he got the admission letter, he was very excited and really wanted to try using magic so he forgot to check his system.
Now yesterday's affairs had finally woke him up from his sweet dreamlike life. Adam had understood that without strength he might not really live to complete his adventures. And now that he had a conflict with Malfoys, he felt that his life was going to lose all the peace and fun. He even felt stupid when he thought how he had made enemies out of Lucius Malfoy without even having enough strength to protect himself, let alone protecting Hermione. If it was not for Professor Flitwik and other pure-blood families being present at the Duel, Lucius probably would have finished him and Hermione right then and there.
Adam started checking every single aspect of his system. He even started right from the name and age to see if there was something in it. But when he saw that there was no reaction in it, he felt really stupid for doing such things. He could touch his system window with his hands or he could select it just with his thoughts. Usually he only used his thoughts to control system window but when there was no one around him, he controlled it mostly with his hands. He felt like he was part of some high-tech sci-fi movie when he did it with his hands.

After touching every single thing from the start, Adam found out that these things could not be changed at all. It was obvious but he still checked it as to not miss anything important.
Now Adam had finally arrived at special points which had quite the amount in it. Yesterday he had received 5,000 special points by learning Disarming charm, which later turned into 50,000 with ten times the reward from his task. He could open special points shop after tapping on the points. He had initially noticed that there were no magical items in this special points shop so he had ignored it. He had thought that these points were only for buying food or other daily things that he would be needing so he ignored it.
But yesterday he had noticed that he could customize things that he wanted to buy from this shop. Even though size of the clothes could only be his size, he could still change the color and design of the clothes he wanted to buy. Now he had the chance to check this function properly.
Adam thought for a while before deciding that he wanted to get a notebook for himself. He was going to write his adventures in a notebook or a diary. Diary was too small for his use as he even wanted to stick some pictures that he would be taking during his adventures, so he finally decided to get a notebook. As soon as he thought about a notebook, a plain white notebook appeared with the price of 100 special points. He thought of changing the color and Notebook immediately turned into Black color. Then he turned the soft outer cover of the notebook into hard cover of leather. He continued his experiments for a while and noticed that customized items were more expensive than normal things. After a while he bought 10.5"×15" notebook with Black leather cover and his name 'Adam Taylor' carved on it with shining Golden color. Price of these small changes in a notebook was quite high as this notebook turned from 100 points to 500 points which was really expensive for a non-magical item. The chocolates that he had bought for Astoria and Hermione were only 1 point per unit.
Adam noticed that there were still some restrictions in using this shop. In terms of technological things, he could not buy things that he knew from the previous life. It actually made sense as many of those things were actually not invented yet. Finally after checking it for a while, Adam bought best camera of the current age which was still very good as the technology was atleast few years ahead of time compared to 1990s of his previous life.
Adam was still quite pleased with this shop. Even though he could not buy magical things, he was still able get most of the things he needed in his daily life with the help of this shop. For him this feeling was not like buying things in normal shops, it was more like he was creating things that he wanted out of nothing. This feeling was really great, like he was the God in his own shop.
Gold shop was already throughly checked by Adam. He knew that the most important things that he could buy through his system were all available in this shop so he had already checked it when it was unlocked in the start. Before magical spell were added in the shop, there were only potion ingredients and some herbal plants in this shop so he was sure that more things would be added in the future. He only knew few of them. One of which was Bezoar, it looked like a stone but Adam knew that it could be used as an antidote to most of the poisons. It was quite rare but it only had the price of 500 Gold.
Yes, only 500 Gold. It was way cheaper compared to some ingredients that had a price of more than few thousands of Gold. Adam even felt that these expensive ingredients were probably extinct. He still didn't have much knowledge and interest about potions so he did not check all those ingredients and looked at the next thing, task panel.
There was not much to see in these task panel as he had no way to get new tasks or remove current tasks by himself. So he did not spend much time in it and moved on to the next thing- Map.
This map was not like a normal map. It could not show the roads or buildings from real life but only showed the secret spaces that appeared nearby him and also the amount of threat it possessed to Adam in terms of magical level. He still didn't know the range of this Map but he could still guess from the farthest secret space that had appeared in it that it atleast had the range of 2KM. Adam thought that maybe it had now increased with his increase in magic power level.
These secret spaces appeared very rarely and their entrance was not visible to the naked eyes so it was very hard to meet them frequently. Adam had only found one low level secret space that he could enter untill now. After killing all those monsters like Goblins and slimes, he had noticed that the secret space had disappeared. It was like a monster dungeon from the games he had played in his previous life. Only thing he felt weird was that these green Goblins were definitely different srom the Goblins from Harry potter world then why were they still called Goblins in his system.
Yes, his system showed him the names of these monsters just like a game.
As for other high level secret spaces, Adam did not dare to enter them but he had still noticed that they disappeared within one or two days. He boldly guessed that there must be someone who was probably clearing these secret spaces. Adam had initially thought that these secret spaces would've disappeared after few days by themselves but when some of the secret spaces had stayed open for nearly a week, He immediately denied this speculation.
Adam checked the map and found out that there were two secret spaces in this area. One of them was level 10 while the other one was level 18. Both of them were out of Adam's reach. Even though he thought that he could clear level 10 secret space from the difficulty he had faced in the level 3 secret space, he still did not want to take risks anymore. He just wanted to concentrate on learning new magical spells and gaining more knowledge about this world. Adam had felt that things about the relation between magical surge and wizarding world were definitely not as easy as professor Flitwik had told him.
At the end of inspection, Adam even checked his item box just to find out that he could not store all of the things he had with him in the item box. Only system items were possible to be stored in this item box. He didn't like this at all but it was still better than nothing. Maybe he could still store some other things in it just like his wand, so he thought of checking item box once again when he bought other things from Diagon Alley.
It was still about 7 AM in the morning and Adam had to wait for Hermione before going to Diagon Alley for shopping so he chose to have breakfast and wait for Hermione in the room.
Adam took out his Adventure Notebook and started writing about recent events that had happened to him. He even included the day he had received the Hogwarts admission letter. Some events were not that important so he finished them in a single sentence like meeting with professor McGonagall and professor Flitwik.
At about 8 AM, there was a loud knocking sound on the door. Adam didn't know why but he knew that it was Hermione at the door. He was surprised that she came here so early in the morning but he was still happy that he didn't have to stay in the room and get bored alone.
Adam thought of something and took out his newly bought camera from his item box and went to open the door.
As soon as Adam opened the door, he shouted loudly, "Hermione! Smile!!!"
Hermione who was outside the door was surprised by this shout and looked at Adam with surprised face. Adam had already clicked a picture with his camera. He had seen Hermione who had surprised and a little frightened look on her face through his camera but he had also seen that there was a man and a woman standing behind Hermione. They were Hermione's parents. He had seen them in the movie. Even thought they looked a little bit different compared to the movie, but he still recognized thenm at the very first glance. Somehow his memory regarding the movie scenes was still quite good.
"What are you doing?" Hermione was surprised to get this type of welcome. She asked Adam while Mr. and Mrs. Granger just looked at him.
"I.. uh... I was just joking... yeah, just joking." Adam smiled awkwardly when he noticed their gaze. He didn't think that Hermione was going to come upstairs with her parents. He immediately gave them a way and asked them to come in.
"You were taking picture, weren't you?" Hermione asked as she entered the room and saw Adam holding a camera in his hand. She was not reserved at all as she pulled her mother and sat down on the bed. Mr.Granger stood still and looked around in the empty room.
Adam looked at his hands that were holding the camera then took his camera back into the item box. "I was.... just checking if the camera worked properly. I just bought it."
Mr. and Mrs. Granger were both surprised to see Adam making the camera disappear. But Mr. Granger was probably a bit displeased by Adam's behaviour. He looked at Adam and said in serious voice "It's impolite to take pictures without permission. You..."
Hermione didn't let her dad finish his sentence, "Dad, Adam was just joking." Hermione quickly looked around to find something to change the topic. She finally noticed big black notebook with Adam's name on it. She was surprised to see such a big notebook. She picked it up and looked at it curiously, "Wow, this notebook is so big. Where did you get it? what do you use it for?"
Hermione was about to open the notebook but before she could open the notebook, she saw that it had disappeared. She was puzzled then she saw Adam standing in front of her with his hand stretched out to the place where notebook was at just now.
Adam smiled awkwardly. He felt that it was really bad start of the day for him. He looked at everyone's puzzled faces then took two steps back from Hermione and said calmly, "It was my diary. It is a secret."
Mr.Granger still looked at Adam without any emotions on his face while Mrs.Granger smiled at Adam and said, "It's really a good habit to write a diary. Hermione, You should not pick other's things without asking for permission."
Hermione looked at Adam, probably still curious about his notebook but she still nodded obediently at her mother's words. Atmosphere became very awkward as no one spoke anything. Adam looked at everyone before finally breaking the silence, "Hermione, did you have a breakfast? If not then we can order something to eat." Adam had already had his breakfast but he did not have anything else to talk about.
"We had a breakfast before coming here. I wanted to quickly visit Diagon Alley to buy some interesting books. I couldn't wait anymore so I brought them here so early. I wanted to come even earlier but mom told me that I should not disturb you so early in the morning." Hermione spoke excitedly. Adam could see that she was very excited thinking about visiting the Diagon Alley or maybe thinking about the new exciting books to read.
"Actually I was also waiting for you since early in the morning. How about we go to Diagon Alley right now?" Adam asked as he really wanted to take Grangers out of this awkward situation right now.
"Sure, let's go." Hermione jumped up on her feet and pulled her mother out of the room. Mr.Granger stood still for a while then followed them out. Adam could only smile bitterly as he closed the room door and went downstairs. He knew that he had made not so good impression on Mr. and Mrs.Granger.
Adam and Hermione chatted on their way to Diagon Alley while Mr. and Mrs.Granger followed closely behind them. They were surprised to see the scene as bricks split open to form a opening for them to enter Diagon Alley. This was miraculous scene for them. As they walked into the Diagon Alley, they were shocked to see all kinds of things in front of them. Many people wore wizard robes and pointed hats. There were some creepy shops while there were also some shops that sold weird magical things. Mr and Mrs Granger were surprised to see this place that was completely different from their normal lives.
Adam and Hermione walked to different shops while laughing and chatting, occasionally taking pictures together. Mr. and Mrs.Granger were both surprised to see Adam taking out things out of nowhere but after a while they got used to it.
Duel was held where normal Wizards were not present but news of Adam's win had already spread everywhere in the Diagon Alley. Apparently Hermione did not tell some bloody things that happened in the duel to her mother so Mr. and Mrs.Granger were both surprised to see that everyone recognized Adam and Hermione and congratulated them for winning the duel. Adam could see that people were not congratulating him for his win but rather enjoying Lucius malfoy's defeat.
'It looks like no one likes Lucius in the Diagon Alley.' Adam thought to himself.
Adam and Hermione along with Mr. and Mrs.Granger, bought all the necessary things required for the school except the books. Adam let it be the last location as he knew that Hermione was going to spend quite the time looking around in it.
Adam and Hermione finally arrived outside the Flourish and Blotts which had all the books that they required. This was also the place where Hermione had her first and also worst experience in the magical world. She was a bit hesitant and also excited when entering the book store.
As soon as they entered the shop, shop manager walked towards them with a smile on his face. Adam thought that he was definitely going to make trouble for them as this trip was going rather smoothly.
Adam waited for shopkeeper to say something bad to them but the situation that he had expected did not occur. Instead shopkeeper apologized to him and Hermione, "Little miss, I am really sorry for what happened yesterday. I couldn't offend them so I wasn't able to intervene. I hope you will forgive me. Mr.Taylor, I hope you can also forgive me."
Adam was surprised to see the apologizing shop manager but Hermione felt really uncomfortable about this. She didn't blame the shop manager for yesterday's event so she didn't want him to apologize to her. She nervously held onto the corner of Adam's shirt. Adam immediately guessed what she was thinking. He replied to shop manager, "It was not your fault. It has already happened so don't worry about it anymore. We didn't really blame you for this thing."
Adam could see that shopkeeper probably didn't believe that he was a muggle-born and that was also the reason why he came to apologize to him but Adam didn't really want to explain this to the shop manager.
"As my sincere apology, let me help you get the school books.You can check other books you are interested in, while I help you collect the books. I assume both of you are First-years. " Shop manager said politely.
"Then I will thank you in advance for your help. We are indeed First-years in hogwarts." Adam said and pulled Hermione to another book shelf as he really didn't want to continue talking to this shop manager.
Adam started looking around for the books about history of wizarding world. Professor Flitwik had already recommended some books yesterday but he still searched for different books while discussing with Hermione.
Mr. and Mrs.Granger were standing in the distance, looking at Adam and Hermione. They had seen the shop manager apologizing to Adam and Hermione. Adam and Hermione didn't think much about this apology but Both Mr. and Mrs.Granger could see that shop manager was only apologizing because of Adam. They could see that shop manager was trying to please Adam which really puzzled them. They couldn't understand why one simple duel had made Adam so famous that everyone was polite to him and also tried to please him.
What both Grangers didn't know was that their daughter did not tell them the complete story about the so called 'SIMPLE' duel. In fact most of the people were not trying to please Adam because he had won the duel but because they had thought that Adam was probably member of one of the pure blooded families. How could a muggle-born wizard beat the heir of one of the most powerful pure-blood family- Malfoy family. In their minds, Adam was definitely a pure-blood family member. They didn't understand why Adam stood up for a muggle-born girl but they didn't care about it as long as they could please Adam. Even pure-blood families of 'Sacred twenty-eight' had thought that Adam was member of one of the unknown pure-blood families.
It took couple of hours for Adam and Hermione to finish their shopping which bored both Mr. and Mrs.Granger but they still followed them quietly. Adam and Hermione had bought many books from Flourish and Blotts where they spent their most of the time.
Adam did not buy owl as he did not want to spend his time taking care of it. He decided to buy it before the school starts so Hermione decided to do the same.
After shopping, Adam and Hermione parted their ways in the leaky cauldron. But before parting ways, Adam had booked the same room for a whole month in leaky cauldron so he could practise magic in it. Both Adam and Hermione decided to meet here whenever they wanted to practise magic. At the end, both of them exchanged contact information and left leaky cauldron.
Adam had went to Leaky Cauldron with professor Flitwik's Apparition so he did not know where he was at right now. He told his address to taxi to go back home. To his surprise, his house was really close to Leaky Cauldron which was very suitable for him. He could visit Leaky Cauldron everyday to practise magic.
It took quite a while for Adam to explain why he had spent night outside to his parents. But everything went well. Ofcourse he didn't tell them the truth about his duel against Draco.
Days passed by peacefully. Both Adam and Hermione spent most of their time reading the books of their first year curriculum. Adam had also read some books about history of magical surge that happened in this world. He really wanted to learn about the direction in which the wizarding world had changed after the big event of magical surge. He wanted to see what was different compared to the original story.
Adam and Hermione visited Leaky Cauldron everyday as even Hermione lived close to the Leaky Cauldron. Adam did not know where she lived but he was sure that there houses were definitely close to each other.
They kept practising magic everyday for few hours in the room that they had booked. They learned many spells but most of them were easy and had limited use in their daily lives. But Adam still convinced Hermione to practise these spells by telling her that practising different types of magic would help her with magic control and spell casting speed. He had said these things so she would learn these spells with him and he could earn as much as gold as he can but he didn't expect to really see her improve at faster rate.
Hermione wanted to practise spells from their school First-year curriculum just after couple of days of learning easy magical spells but Adam stopped her as he didn't really want to learn them right now and feel bored during the classes. Even Hermione felt that his thoughts were really right so she avoided the first year curriculum spells and practised weird spell like cleaning spells with Adam. Adam told her to practise magic from the book 'Practical Household Magic' by Zamira Gulch. She didn't like these spells but she still practised them with him. She could feel that her control over magic had really increased after learning these different types of usually useless spells. Adam didn't want her to feel unhappy so he still taught her about Disarming charm once in a while.
Now when Hermione failed to learn the Disarming charm for few days, Adam could feel that Disarming charm was really difficult to learn and he would definitely not succeed to cast this spell again if it weren't for his system. His system gave him a great benefit regarding magical spells as once he had cast a spell successfully, he could cast them again without any trouble as it was kind of registered in his system, atleast that's what he thought. But he still had to practise those magical spells by himself to improve their strength and casting speed. Adam could not cast Disarming charm with the same strength as he did back in the duel so he had already guessed that it was only his wand that had helped him in the duel.
During this time, Adam and Hermione noticed that their wands were really helping them learn these magical spells at a faster rate. Adam could feel that it was easier for him to cast spells if Hermione had already learned them. Same thing was happening to Hermione. She could easily learn magic spells when Adam had already learned them.
Both of them noticed that they were sort of connected to each other in a strange way through their wands. This was really strange feeling but both of them could feel it. But they still didn't talk about it with each other as both of them felt embarrassed about this connection.
Learning easy magical spells was really piece of cake for them with the help of their wands. Even their magical power was growing quickly. They could feel it growing at faster rate whenever they practised magic together.
After few days of regular practise, both of them thought of moving on to slightly difficult spells to see if their wands could help them learn these difficult spells. But they decided to postpone their experiments to a later date as the day of Adam's meeting with Sophie Greengrass had finally arrived. Adam couldn't help but sigh as he thought how one week had already passed since he had his duel with Draco Malfoy. He was still quite happy that Lucius still did not come looking for trouble with them.
