The loud noise from my bedroom window woke me.
I sit up and the first thing I see is a figure standing next to my wardrobe, I turn on my bedside lamp only to find a pile of clothes on a chair.
Whew! That was scary.
I turn off the light, ready to go back to sleep but this time, the figure is standing next to my bed.
I stretch out my hands to turn on my bedside lamp again but it's not coming on,
I can't find my phone either.
"No, no no," I scream as the figure charges at me.
"Wake up Nana," a gentle female voice whispers
"Oh thank God, it was a dream," I mutter in relief.
I turn to see Joy, my best friend staring at me in concern.
"You've been shouting in your sleep, what happened?" She asks
I am covered in sweat and breathing shakily.
"I had a nightmare" I reply in a weak voice
"You look terrible Nana, you know what? let me get you a glass of water to drink," Joy says and walks out of the room.
As I start to take off my sweaty shirt, Joy returns holding a glass of water.
"Here you go," she says and hands it over.
As soon as I get the glass of water from her, my foggy brain clears.
Joy? She has been dead for two years, what is she doing here?
The last thing I remember is the sound of the glass shattering on the bedroom floor.
