Twila was already there when Davis, Rosetta, Vance, and Melva visited the tavern. She looked very excited as soon as her gaze landed on them. She immediately left her cooking to greet them by the door. Tears welled up in her eyes while she hugged each of them in turn. Everyone was clearly taken by surprise to find Twila running up to them and pulling them to her arms.
It was a mess inside the tavern. The tables and chairs were broken to pieces. Some parts of the wooden floors were burnt. A lot of shards of broken glasses on top of them. The walls were dented in their surfaces as if someone had thrown hard objects repeatedly against them. Melva could not help but wonder what actually had happened inside the tavern while they had been gone.
