"Is the werewolf who bit you from Corbett's pack?" asked Vance through gritted teeth. Colour had returned to his face. His hand that was holding Melva's was tightening in anger.
Melva rubbed her thumb on his hand, trying to calm him down. "I have no idea. But I am feeling fine. You do not need to worry about it. I start to believe that the werewolf venom will never take effect."
"Don't you remember why we are holed up underground like this? With me being in chains?" Vance made a point by flailing around his chained arms, the chains jingling. "We still need to capture the werewolves who are spreading the infection. If we fail, we will not be able to get back out there safely. We will have to live our lives in hiding."
