Everyone collectively covered their noses with their hands. Davis, who had it worst of them all, looked as if he was physically abused with how he fell backwards by the impact of the strong stench of the piled up dead bodies all over the huge chamber's floor. This was probably the only moment where everyone did not envy Davis' heightened senses.
"Is this where they store the bodies they found on the shores? Goodness, they are stinking up the whole place!" exclaimed Rosetta in extreme disgust. The stench caused her to cough endlessly, as if the smell itself pained her throat.
"What are they using these bodies for? Do sirens eat human flesh at all?" asked Davis with a nasal voice because he blocked his own nose to tone down his sense of smell.
"No. We do," answered Alden curtly as he observed the room. "They usually just dumped the bodies on the shores for us to find."
"Then why did they keep it?" asked Melva to no one in particular.
