Melva noticed Vance's eyes staring at the manor behind them with intense reluctance and she felt the need to reassure him. "We will come back here again. You said it yourself that this is only momentary."
"I know. I just cannot believe that I have been kicked out of my own home," mumbled Vance grumpily as he went ahead and climbed into the carriage.
Following right after him, Melva also walked into the carriage, wearing a comfortable hunting dress which was wrapped in simple leather armour and pants that were covered by the skirt. Her bow was slung on her back and her quiver was strapped around her thigh where the skirt splitted to reveal the pants underneath. She looked like a hunter who was prepared to spend most of her time in the wilderness.
Vance also took notice of that while he watched her getting into the carriage to sit next to him. "Nice dress. Sane vampires will run away when they see you in that getup."
