"Do you have a library in the manor?" asked Melva curiously as both Vance and she were inside her chamber, having physicians tending her injuries. Vance's wounds were long gone. They had healed themselves during the carriage ride. Sometimes, him being a werewolf made her envious for how convenient his life seemed.
"Of course. I like reading. Do you also like books?" asked Vance with brows raised, obviously not expecting the question.
Melva nodded, furrowing her brows at the questioning look Vance sent her. "Why? Is it that weird that I like books?"
"No. I did not know you can read," reasoned Vance.
"How do you think I can survive with the extent of my curiosity if I cannot read?" Melva thought it was clear from how she was eager to learn about their world. Knowledge mostly came from books. Surely reading had been the first thing she had asked Mrs. Halpine to teach her.
