Alden cracked open the ground above their heads and jumped out of the tunnels, bringing Melva along with him without warning because she would not be strong enough to climb up herself in that condition. Melva gasped out of shock because she was suddenly launched up high and they were back above ground again. As soon as their feet touched the ground, Vance sprinted towards Melva and attacked her with a hug.
"You do not know how glad I am to see you again," murmured Vance to her ears. He seemed to be genuinely glad to see her. It must have been hard to fight up here against the army of puppets.
"Me too," replied Melva as she wrapped her arms around his body, hugging him back.
