Melva's heart skipped a beat at Arlie's statement. It did not match Docia's. Something was obviously wrong here. Either Arlie had his memories stolen by the necromancer, or he was now currently under her manipulation magic. This person might not be Arlie at all. He could be someone who was pretending to be him.
Melva could not tell which Arlie she was talking to. She physically distanced herself from him, leaning back slightly. She hoped he would not realise it.
"Oh, she must have remembered it wrong then." She faked her smile to convince Arlie. She was not sure it would be wise to tell him about her speculation. His realisation might lead the necromancer to rush to his side, thinking that her magic had worn out. "She also mentioned something about you having a girlfriend. Is it true? Or did she remember wrongly again?"
