Melva understood the suggestive tone in Vance's words and her face went red instantly.
The house was very cramped as it was barely proper for anyone to live in. Her mattress only fit for one person and it would take up all the empty space left on the floor, which meant there would be no place for anyone else to sleep on the floor. They would have to share the mattress. And since the mattress barely fit for one person, they would be flush against each other while they slept.
It would be a very intimate night for the couple.
She actually did not mind the intimacy because she found herself very comfortable with him, but it was still embarrassing. And Vance was very fond of teasing her for being shy in any physical intimacy between them. It only made her more embarrassed.
"We will share the mattress," muttered Melva sheepishly as she tried to avoid Vance's gaze. She was convinced that Vance would tease her again about this.
