"It certainly does not seem that way," whispered Vance to Linwood's ear, but it was useless because it was loud enough for everyone to hear. He might as well talk normally. It was just that he did not want to pass up the chance to tease the poor duke.
"Let him live, Vance." Alden was taking Linwood's side because he also lived in a place where no one could enter without one of their kind's company. "It is not like he wants his people to be ignorant on purpose. It is just the side effect of having a secluded region."
Vance scoffed indignantly. "It was barely one minute after we met Linwood and you were already kissing his ass."
Melva chuckled at Vance's words. There was nothing funny about what he said, but everything seemed funny to her. Rosetta rolled her eyes in disbelief at that.
