Melva had hoped that the others would make it through the region and had an audience with Linwood, so that at least they would be able to free them from the jail. Unfortunately, the others were also inside the cell they were thrown into. Alden, Rosetta, and Trevan were already there, sitting on the ground with their backs against the wall and their hands chained like theirs. It seemed like they had been there for quite a while. They must have been lucky that they had not been thrown into the maze.
The fairies left them alone once they locked them all inside one huge cell, that was big enough for five of them. It was only a large empty space with nothing in it. There were no beds nor any other necessities. Melva deduced that the fairies did not intend to keep them here for long. That was good news.
"What took you so long?" asked Alden curiously. "Didn't they bring you here immediately after walking through the portal?"
