Chapter 8 - Bodyparts and Darkness

"They.  Did. What?" A grey haired female crushed the tumbler she held in her hand, spilling the contents all over her body and the unto the floor.

Her subordinate shrank back, trembling for fear of being made a new training dummy for the commander of the Fort Lauderdale Warriors.

Amber "Bodyparts" Alvarez.

The girl that brought the bad news to Amber silently prayed that she was in a good enough mood to just set her free.

Luckily her prayers were answered.

"Ok then. You may go" Amber motioned with a flick of her hand and the other girl was gone in seconds, leaving the commander to herself.

Destin's gang was getting bolder. Either that or they were really desperate to get rid of competition ahead of Brawlhalla and make it easier for them to win. What was their name again... Destiny Snatchers? Dusty Devastators?  Whatever the name was, she had forgotten. What she wasn't going to forget however was what they had just done in her own turf. Spray painting her city's buildings was bad enough...but going to the extent of attacking her members?

It was unheard of in the world of gangs. For one to attack 'The Scarless One's' own gang members.

Amber got up from her chair and walked over to the ceiling-to-floor window of her beach house, admiring the view of the ocean while pulling off her now wet shirt and tossing it to the floor.

She had no fear of anybody seeing her in only a tank top, for one the beach house was very well hidden as it was in the middle of two large rock formations that intersected each other just above the thatched roof of her house, and two very few people even knew there was a house there, and for the people who did know, the fear of being targeted by her scared them away. Even her own gang members weren't aware of it, except for her Deputy and personal help. It was her chill zone. Hers and hers alone.

She gazed at her own reflection, a completely different girl from the one she was 7 years ago. Her grey hair was decorated with multiple red and black streaks and was done in messy pigtails with shaved sides, revealing three snake tattoos on the left side of her head. On her neck was another tattoo, a red bull head with white horns, her gang's easily recognizable symbol and across her eye was another tattoo, which was just a wavy line. Her ears were decorated with multiple piercings of different kinds, the small jingles and jangles they created when she walked were a clear indicator that she had arrived. She also had a complete and total lack of scars, unusual for any gangster.  Throughout her 4 years of running a gang and gang fighting, she had never received a single scratch from anyone, talkmore of a scar. It was what had earned her the moniker of The Scarless One long before gang fighting became legal.

The only thing that was still reminiscent of her past self were her bright blue eyes. The same blue eyes she shared with her brother.

Her brother.

She hadn't seen him in so long, not since that day. The last  time she saw him was when he was looking at her through the police car window, smiling despite what he had done and where he was going.

She had no idea how long his sentence was, and she didn't even know where to find him if he got out. To her he was forever a prison bum, doomed to be behind bars for the rest of his life.

She shook her head violently, getting the terrible memories out of her mind and refocusing on what made her get up from her chair this morning.

Teaching those Destin guys a lesson.

Personally.....

"Those Destin guys are in deep..."

The Taitanzu Heads (except Killer, Last Resort and Casey who were handling the latest initiations) were chilling in their arcade hideout, wearing their new black and red gang jackets, while being so bored out of their minds that they had all decided to just watch the news to pass the time when they saw the latest headline:

"Destin Destroyers gang laid out on the streets of Fort Lauderdale, several of them missing fingers, ears and the gang Deputy himself; Terrance Danilo missing his left eye. They are all still alive, but in critical condition. Their motorcycles have also been destroyed and some of them stolen. What other gang is responsible for this attack and what motivated them to do this?"   The female newscasters' voice continued speaking as the image cut to a snapshot of a street littered with well over 200 mangled but breathing bodies, the street drenched in blood and different motorcycle parts scattered all over the place.

None of the Taitanzu Heads needed a genius to tell them who was responsible for the gruesome scene on the TV, it was clear as day.  The image and the newscasters' words made it clear why they called the perpetrator 'Bodyparts'

"Those guys must have been on some strong shit to be crazy enough to assault Fort Lauderdale, knowing who runs it and all..." Noah who was smoking weed, spoke up through the cloud of smoke that had surrounded his head.

"They're obviously desperate to win Brawlhalla. Apparently there's a huge cash prize for the top three gangs" Boris said while blowing away the smell of weed with his hand, an irked expression on his face.

"But that's so saaaaaad! These Destin guys who attacked you guys last week are probably never going to make it to Brawlhalla!!!" Crystal, the compassionate and hot blooded 1st Branch Deputy, Noah's cousin and  one of the two Taitanzu sponsors, was practically wailing at the image of the destroyed Destin Destroyers on the TV.

"Fort Lauderdale are going to be a pretty tough gang to beat if we ever cross's paths. Minus the ever present factor of Amber 'Bodyparts' Alvarez, our own Killer's sister their also a particularly strong group" Triple absent-mindedly mumbled while fiddling with a candy cigarette in his mouth. Eliza was slowly starting to influence them all.

Eliza in question, or as she was known within Taitanzu; Vice chewed her own minty cigar in deep thought, her mind traveling far from her current location as she imagined what would play out in an encounter with the Fort Lauderdale Warriors.

It was going to be a tough battle for sure, but she was more concerned about what was going to happen when Killer and Amber reunited on the battlefield. The both of them held a certain darkness within them that if unleashed or kept unchecked would be the death of multiple others, their gangs and even themselves.

In Amber's case everyone knew she was slowly descending into her inner demon, hence why she hardly fought in the first place. Despite her fearsome reputation and cruel methods, she was still a 14 year old who didn't like killing. Just fighting.

At least that's what Eliza thought.

But what about Killer?

The more Eliza thought about it the more she realized that nobody actually knew anything about him. His real name? Nothing. Favorite anything? None. And she was pretty sure he had never given the full reason as to why he was even called Killer in the first place. As far as she knew the only people who really know what happened 7 years ago were Boris, LR, Amber and Killer himself.

She shuddered at the thought of the combination. Last Resort, Amber and Killer. The three had overwhelming strength, were nigh unbeatable as far as she was concerned, and their fighting styles were nearly identical, except for the fact that Last Resort's techniques were a lot more refined than theirs and Amber's techniques were devastating; Killer's was a mixture of both.

The thought of any of them getting even remotely angry made her break out in a cold sweat.

"Enough thinking... I need another cigarette...."

"Pathetic...."

The 14 year old girl rubbed some of the blood on her hands into her hair as she addressed the group of people in front of her.

"I thought it'll be a better challenge than what I got today...200 of them and still no scars...." Amber mused while looking at the small group of her underlings she had gathered into their main HQ, an old waterworks plant.

Her group of delinquents didn't dare to speak unless asked to, they didn't want to wake up tommorow with some body part or the other missing.

"And how the hell did you guys let them into our own district without our knowledge....and even get attacked for God's sake?"

All of them squirmed under her gaze, all of them sending a collective prayer of protection to God above them.

"Thank the heavens I'm too lazy to deal with this bullshit right now..." The grey haired girl got off her chair and stretched before walking down the steps to meet her subordinates.

She held one by the his lower jaw and looked him dead in the eyes a small smirk on her face as she felt him shake in her grip.

"The next time word of this gets to me. It'll be the attacking gang AND you idiots ending up in the emergency room..." She squeezed the teen's jaw lightly, making him squeak in surprise.

"Let this be a lesson to you all...." She suddenly snapped his lower jaw off the rest of his skull, earning a stunned gasp from the rest of her gang as the boy fell to ground, passed out from the combination of shock and pain.

Amber grinned as the rest of her gang scurried out of their base, fiddling with the newly acquired jawbone in her fingers.

Yeah she was on some overpowered, anime shit but who cared?

That's what she loved about fiction.
