Chapter 30 - CHAPTER THIRTY - 30 - OFF GAME DEAL

JIN HO game was launched on Friday night. So the sunday morning, the players came out of console and shared what they had experienced in two days within the game. The momentum was increasing. The guilds and others were actively recruiting people to play. Then...the gamin company dropped the bomb. The players would no longer be protected by Gaming God or the AI managing the game.

You might expect the recruitment to flatter a bit, but on contrary it surged again.

The new announcement made by company was welcomed by high end gaming console users. They were no longer restricted by 6 hours game and pause method. They could play during night time within the game. Then there was chance of getting invite to auction houses among high level monster drops. The villages never needed an auction house. They had lots of shops which was enough for the village needs.

Nia was watching the auction site for the first time. Previous day she did not have enough coins. But today she was fairly rich. She wanted recipes, either of food or of potions. After suffering two hours, she came out for a breath. The take home message she received was never fight with guilds when they are interested in some items. The guilds were snapping recipes like there was no tomorrow. Whether it was level 1 recipe or level 20 recipe, they did not care. They bought it , so that others would not. And the AI handling auction was well advanced, it know enough to push the motions high and let everyone simmer in auction fever.

Nia suddenly had a brainstorm. But she needed the idea to be approved by her financial manager. The idea was not new. It was to portray Nia as independent consultant and have 'contracts' with the guilds to produce certain amount of potions. But such contracts could only be discussed between equals. If Nia went directly and talked, she would be exploited legally or illegally.

So now Maaya had added burden of making contracts and deals with the guilds in Daka village. Maaya had actual figures of production cost of each potion and as such. So, she talked with few 'good' guilds, that is , guilds which did not steal pennies but directly looted in dollars to make arrangement. General antidote potions, specific antidote potions, dark vision potions, satiety potions, clear head potions, beginner level red and blue pots...there were lots of potions and many were needed very urgently. These guilds could not wait till the proficiency of their alchemists increased to the level where they could prepare such potions.

The basic premise was the guilds would provide raw materials and Nia would handover potions and collect commission either as coins or resources or potions themselves. And the orders would be large in the beginning but the orders would become smaller and smaller as the guild alchemists get better and better. If the guild provides one of its kind recipe, it could ask her to not sell the potions to others directly or indirectly.

Nia was not involved in the talks. She came in only to sign the contracts under the eye of AI managing the game. These contracts were legally binding. If Nia or the guilds broke the contract terms, they had to pay hefty fine- numbering millions to billions of credits/cash.

So on third day morning inside the game, Nia woke up early and took another long route to Grandma Esla's kitchen, by which her inventory had reduced by more than half. She then started helping in making breakfast while listening to the gossip. According to the NPCs, the Chief Tomashi was wondering if he should send few people to monitor the forest regions. Forest at nights were more dangerous. Vision would be low but monster attack would increase by 10% at least. And there were few nocturnal monsters who were active only in nights.

Nia understood this was the way to ensure players could continue to play beyond 6 hours. She took few moments to write a note to Maaya. Giving a tip to her meant Maaya could make some deals to divulge this information. And when Maaya received benefits, she was duty bound to give something to Nia too.

As she would be spending most of her time inside workroom, Nia conned a bowl of 'clear head soup' and its recipe before skipping ahead to finish off many of the merchant deals. By the time she reached workrooms, few people were waiting for her though they did not know it. These players were loyal to the guild but were in lower levels, thus they had no idea why they had to wait here for a player.

And many such 'loyal' members of different guilds were waiting. Few 'friendly' ones tried to talk with others to learn why they were waiting and what was the deal. Most of them, though, were tight lipped. It did not matter if they did not find out details from other guilds. The main matter was not to give out details from their guilds.

Even after waiting this long, they did not know what, why, where, who etc. All were waiting near workshop and many people had already wandered in, including their own guild members. [Till the guilds built their guild house or had similar establishment, they had to send their members to common learning places.]
