Chapter 33 - Chapter 31

In front of them was a huge head, the ghost. It had bulls horns, bloody eyes, and some other weird animal parts. It was like a Chimera, but weird. Well, not really weird, just sorta demented.

"Where is your real body?" Li QI Ye asked, completely unphased.

"ROAR!!!!" The ugly monster roared, baring its angry fang-filled mouth.

Suddenly, an explosion shook the peak, and out of the floorboards, an ancient-looking zither appeared, floating in the air for a second before flying over to Li Qi Ye's outstretched hands, which had discarded the other apparently lamer zither on the stone table.

It was old, shining with a certain brilliance. The wood was still in a quite good condition, with the strings, though sort of rusty, still usable.

Seeing the zither fall into Li Qi Ye's hands, the monster roared and attacked, with Li Qi Ye fending it off with a strum of the Zither.

Yun Xie sat down, watching in amusement as Li Qi Ye created a torrent of sword energy that struck out, slicing through the serpent, rendering it afraid. Seriously, xianxia logic.

The fight carried on for a while, the monster finally hissing something that Yun Xie didn't really remember. He took out some salted, buttery movie popcorn. It wasn't exactly good for him but he had a weird digestive system so….. Eh.

"Zheng…. Zheng….. Zheng…. Zheng….. Zheng….." The zither played on, producing a wonderful melodic rhythm that demolished the monster, before changing to something else.

Yun Xie stuffed some popcorn into his mouth, chewing away. The tune was a lot more mellow, and ancient, feeling archaic and idyllic at the same time.

While the tune played through the air, one could see something before themself, which in this case, Yun Xie did see. A small mountain over yonder with an even smaller bridge crossing an also small flowing stream. Inside this mountain, was a small and tranquil village, surrounded by trees. Within that, was a small courtyard, where chicks and roosters played, darting about.

The monster, hearing this tune, trembled, noisily backing away. Soon, the black fog seemed to dissipate from its body, peeling off in a sort, like a snake shedding its skin.

Then, a tall shadowy but beautiful woman stepped out, her gaze wavering. She was slim and graceful, yet covered in a shadow of sorts that did not let one see her. Just the shadow of her back was enough to cause all living things to unconditionally turn their heads for another look. This was a beauty capable of causing the downfall of nations; this was a beauty with incomparable and absolute peerlessness.

(A/N: So can you actually see her face or is she shrouded in darkness? Is she like a silhouette or something? The wiki said nothing so…. Meh.)

Who would have thought that such a grotesque monster would have such a beautiful true form?

Yun Xie stuffed more popcorn into his mouth, cleaning off his fingers with some water from a Quirk. "Good stuff! Good stuff!"

"Flowing Water, Along Side The Mortal Home!" The shadowy figure murmured, looking at Li Qi Ye in shock. "Yo-you… How did you know this melody?!" She continued on her figure trembling.

"Xiao He, it really is you." Li Qi Ye stopped, laughing heavily as he greeted the shadow.

The peerless beauty, hearing his words, stumbled back a bit, before regaining her composure. "Wh-Who are you!?"

Li Qi Ye smiled, speaking once more."That year, under the wutong tree, digging out the bones for you; besides little brat Min Ren, you tell me who else was there?"

"Yo-you, you are Your Excellency Divine Crow?!" The peerless shadow, astonished, asked, her eyes widening.

(A/N: How that works. I dunno.)

"Pfffffft..." Yun Xie coughed loudly, putting down the basket he was using to hold the popcorn, and stuck one last one into his mouth, chewing slowly this time.

"Wait, wait, wait. Your Excellency?! Dark Crow! Pfft….!!!!" He laughed, dispersing the basket of popcorn and getting up. "Hey, your highness! Let this honored servant exchange ten kowtows to you!" Yun Xie already knew that people would call the Crow this, but feigned not knowing, for his personal comedy. Others might not find it funny, but Yun Xie thought it was hilarious.

Li Qi Ye and the now revealed Xiao He stayed silent, as Yun Xie slapped the table next to him, laughing his butt off.

Li Qi Ye coughed, and continued on, talking to Xiao He for a while more, ignoring Yun Xie altogether.

It was the classic, "OMG how have you been bestie, you still alive, long time no see, and other stuff….

(WCM: That was lame.)

(A/N: Yes. Do you think I wouldn't know if I was putting something lame?)

(WCM: Then why?)

(A/N: Dunno.)

"Now…. This is Yun Xie. He is a good acquaintance of mine, but is slightly….. Unhinged." Li Qi Ye spoke awkwardly in a way that was not at all like him…..

"Hi~" Yun Xie spoke, not in a flirtatious way, but more like in a cheerful, carefree way.

"....."

"...."

Li QI Ye once again rolled his eyes.

Su Yu He and Li Qi Ye went back into their conversation, nostalgically talking of old times, with Qi Ye lightly stroking the Zithers strings.

Suddenly, Yun Xie noticed something arriving from the borders of the Cleansing Incense Sect. A huge ancient looking warship flew through the air towards them. A behemoth of metal and wood, it resembled a mobile fortress, spitting out brilliant lights and such. The bulk of the ship was engraved with mystical runes and formations that were constantly moving, obviously the work of some Dao.

On the ship, a bloody crimson aura radiated pressure. The aura of an ancient Royale Noble! Yun Xie got up, cracking his knuckles a little, smiling murderously. It had been a while since he had some fun…. Maybe he should use a sword this time….

Then, he stopped. Why did he crack his knuckles if he was using a sword to fight? That…. Didn't really make sense. Actually, now that he thought about it, why does one crack their knuckles before a fight? Probably had something to do with intimidation? But there wasn't really anyone to intimidate so…. Whatever.
