Chapter 8 - CAMPING

Aunty May was sent to the hospital, and within a week she was alright.

"Aunt May, you are cooking here? Shouldn't you just rest for the time being?"

"No miss, I'm alright. I got it checked, I can work now. Don't worry."

"Shouldn't you just admit it now", Sheena spoke in an amusing tone

"Admit what?" Aunt May asked with a question mark all over her face.

"That you miss me and can't bear to be away from me", Sheena laughed.

Aunty May shook her head before putting the dishes in front of her.

And stuffing bread in Sheena's mouth, she said,

"Eat up and stop joking around."

Butler Lee, who was observing this, "shouldn't I get a piece of bread too?"

Both the ladies looked up wide eyed at him. Realising what he just said, Buttler Lee cleared his throat.

"I meant should I get master down to have some bread."

"Isn't he out for some work, uncle Lee?" Sheena chuckled.

Sheena then eyed Aunty may,

"But if you really want some bread,Aunty May can personally serve it to you."

Aunty May pat her head and whispered,

"Speak no more, you naughty child". Her face all red.

Sheena cracked up into a laughter.

Butler Lee then smiled nervously before turning away to walk.

"What am I even saying?", He pat his head and walked into a distance.

The morning was blissful.

...…..

Late in the noon, Sheena received a call from Ashley and Anne,

"Hey Ash and Anne, what's up? How have you guys been? You don't even have time for me. Are you so busy looking up for my future brother in laws?" Sheena complained.

"Brother in law's my foot, I'm really pissed off. The entire family is running with the photographs of all the heirs they can get to marry us off." Ashley complained.

"Don't even ask Sheena. It's all bad here. Anyway, we called you for something else." Followed Anne.

"What is it?" Sheena questioned.

"Actually, we have planned to run away from here for sometime. We are planning to go camping."

"There'll be old friends as well and let me tell you are coming with us", ordered Ashley.

"Old friends? Can't we three go alone?"

Sheena pouted.

"We can't. That's why we have called the whole bunch". Replied Anne.

"But when??"

"Tonight we'll leave. I'll pick you up. Pack up okay."

Three of them talked, and Sheena thought for a while after putting the phone down.

She informed grandpa and aunty May before Ashley and Anne picked her up.

...…..

On the way, the girls chatted and dozed off.

Early morning they reached the destination. A group of old friends greeted them.

"Ash and Anne, you called the old classmates as well. How were you able to find them?"

"We have our ways, babe". Ashley muttered.

Soon they heard a car approaching them.

"Is there somebody else joining us as well? "

Anne looked around and replied, no

"I guess everybody we invited is already here."

The car just stopped in front of them, and the next second a foot stepped down along with the whispers growing louder.

Everyone was wondering who it could be.

As they were in thoughts, a handsome man came out of the car. With his boy next door looks, he was breathtaking.

The whispers started growing louder.

Sheena, who was still shocked at what happened, exclaimed,

"You..?? What are you doing here?"

The man had his gaze focused on her, his lips twitched,

"Me.. Why? Can't I be here? By the way, are you sure you're not following me?"

Rubbish, Sheena sneered.

He moved closer, leaned

"Don't tell me it's fate. I don't believe in it."

He moved ahead as Sheena turned to face him. By the time she was looking at him, he headed to the boys mingling with them.

Ash and Anne, who were still enchanted, were still in a trance .

"You both, why is he here?"

"Shouldn't he be? Don't tell me you don't know him?" Ashley, still on her cloud nine, answered.

"What are you talking about, stupid? He is a troublemaker", Sheena huffed.

Ash and Anne broke out of their trance and looked at her curiously.

"Are we missing something?"

"Don't tell us there's a story."

The girls blabbered nonstop.

Sheena massaged her head lightly,

"Let's go to the camp, I'll explain to you on the way."

....................

The trio and everyone else moved to the other side in the camping area.

With numbers of colorful tents lying around to be set up, campfire in the centre, and lush green wilderness all around, it was a beautiful place.

Everybody got engaged in different activities, some started setting up tents, some preparing the food, others preparing the logs for campfire and some putting the lanterns around.

Sheena was setting the tent on her own. At a distance, a pair of charming eyes were fixed on her train of actions. As he leaned on a tree.

Intrigued by his gaze, Sheena looked around. Noticing her actions, he bent to pick the logs on the side. Lifting the axe in another hand, he walked to the campfire.

Sheena was setting up her tent close to the campfire. He sat down on his toes and started putting the logs in the middle. Sheena looked at him. Realising her gaze, he looked back at her.

"What?" He asked

"What...What? "

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I pay tax. I can look wherever I want. Do you have any issue with that?"

"No, why would I have any issue? Just concerned. Who knows, you might be next on my list of admirers."

Sheena almost choked up. Without another glance, she moved to set the other side.

Taking a few glances at her again, he couldn't restrain himself and asked,

"Do you need any help with that?"

"Thanks, but no thanks."

"I don't bite, really", the guy moved ahead and started staking out the tent.

Noticing his action, Sheena left the tent and sat on the grass cross-legged. Her head resting on both of her hands.

"You don't have a life, do you?"

"Hmm..??"

"That must be the reason you poke your nose into everybody else's business...right?"

He smirked and fixed his gaze on her.

Here your tent is ready, princess.

He leaned towards her. As for your question earlier,

"Even my nose has its own value, let alone the whole me. So don't you feel grateful, I expected a thank you but anyway".

He stood up and dusted off his hands.

Before Sheena could answer, he was already at a distance.
