Berlin, Germany
As I smashed the door with my gun, I already expected tons of Krauts waiting for a soldier to kill. But I was wrong. What I saw inside was an unexpected thing that surprised me. What I saw is a girl. A girl just around my age. With her blonde and curly hair, wearing a torn and loose dress, and even though with her outside appearance, she was remarkably gorgeous.
The world and the atrocious war stopped for a moment and I had my eyes focused on her. She gallantly returned the heavy gaze I was giving off. Not until we heard another gunshot that interrupted the moment the two of us are sharing. There she began shouting and began pointing her gun at me.
"Fernbleiben! Bitte bleib weg von mir!"
(Stay away, please stay away!)
Seeing her obvious fear and trepidation, I began thinking of a way to imply to her that I'm not an enemy, that I won't harm her. Thankfully, I learned German in my 12 years of stay here. And so I tried to communicate to her.
"Mach dir keine Sorgen. Ich bin kein Feind, ich bin ein Verbündeter. Ich werde dir nicht weh tun."
(Don't worry. I'm not an enemy, I'm an ally. I won't hurt you.)
At the time she seemed convinced, she lowered down her weapon. I quick went through her and assisted her. As she rose up, I just noticed something I should've notice early, the woman's pregnant. But, where's the father? Why would he leave his wife in such a poor condition? I tried to hide the questions arising in my mind and focused instead on thinking of a way to get her out of this hell.
After making sure that there's no other people inside the room. I quickly constructed a plan to escape the crossfire happening outside. As I wait, until the cross fire ended, I took the opportunity to tend on my companion. She has plenty of wounds particularly on her arms. I went beside her and treated it. She resisted at first, but later on let me to tend her wounds. I also gave her my water for her to calm down. It took around half an hour before the ceasefire. I went out to check if it's already safe.
Outside, there are tons of Soldiers' dead bodies. I went back inside and asked her to cover her eyes on which she did. With my full strength, I tried to run while carrying her to save time. I carried her until we reached on the truck where my pals and other survivors are waiting. At the exact time we arrived, we began to hear again gunshots and bomb explosions.
"Navi? Where the hell have you been?" Terrence shouted on me. It took him a few seconds to see who's with me.
"And who the hell is that woman?" he added.
"Take her to safety, I'll follow up soon. Just making sure if there's still civilians inside"
"Be quick! They want us to be back soon, the HQ are bombing this whole place!"
I just simply nodded as I head back to the area where I found the girl I just rescued.
