Chapter 7 - 7

At the main Branch of "Bronze," things were busy, The preparations for the annual fashion week going on. There was no time to waste. At the President's office, Spencer stood with his back against the wide glass window and stared at the design book in one hand while he was biting the thumb of his other hand. He was mesmerized by the designs in Anna's sketchbook and was furious about why he found the talent just now.

Rose came into the office followed by a crowd of clothing stands that were being pushed by buff workers.

"President! All the designs you selected are her. You can give them a final check."

Spencer pressed his lips and then gestured to Rose to come closer.

"Yes, President?"

"Look at these...What do you think about them?"

Rose had been his assistant for five years now and before that she used to work with his father Jordan. She was a very talented person and had a great eye for designs. Spencer curiously waited for her response, but she looked at them with a dull expression.

"I...I don't know," Her expressions were a little perplexed. "DO you want to add them to the approved designs?" She asked, But her expressions showed Spencer that she wanted him to say no.

"YOu don't want me to?"

"It's not that I don't want you to, I just want you to wait…" Rose glanced at the sketchbook.

"hmm...Okay, Dad said you give great advice so I will listen to you." Spencer closed the sketchbook and walked back to his table.

"And is there any NEws about Eleftheria?"

Rose's eyes twinkled up and she walked over to the table and pulled out a file from the tall stack. "Here! I have recently received news that they are about to launch their new winter collection next month, Just like us."

"Sigh! Why are you so happy about a rival brand's designs?" Spencer scratched his head annoyedly and looked into the file.

"President! You have no idea how hard it is to get your hands over their products. Even if I work at Bronze I would say that no one can beat Eleftheria." She chuckled.

"Tsk...What is the point of having great design when the company hardly makes any profit out of it, I mean their business strategy sucks, After making limited products they sell it at the price of dirt."

"But still they sell like hotcakes." Rose was having a great time defending the rival brand.

"Sigh! If you like their designs that much, why don't you find out the whereabouts of the brand and get me in contact with the owner so that I can propose a collaboration deal with them."

Spencer spoke, he had a bubbling stomach because of the launching date of Eleftheria's Winter collection as it was clashing with BRonze's fashion week and he was not very pleased about it. For the past four years "Bronze" Had lost its spotlight to a brand that didn't have any outlet nor had a building, But the designs made by them were unique and limited. Above all the prices of the dresses were so low that a commoner too could buy them easily. But the problem was that the product was so limited that hardly anybody could get their hands on it. Spencer had been trying to track down the company's location but it was always a dead end. He had been planning to collaborate with the company to unlock a new level of success but after four years of constant effort, he felt completely helpless.

"Should I?" She asked with excitement.

"YOu should know that you can get fired for being too supportive toward a rival brand...You know that right?" Spencer asked. Rose bit her lip and tried to keep in her chuckle. "But you won't." But after saying that she didn't even try to hold in her smile.

"Sigh! It must feel nice to have a job that guarantees you that you won't get fired." Spencer scoffed at her. "Now I have work to do so you should just…" He gestured to her to leave. Rose tapped her shoe arrogantly on the floor before leaving.

"Sigh!" Spencer gave out a tired groan and rested his back against the chair while looking up at the ceiling. He rotated the chair while fidgeting the pen in his fingers. "What to do? What to do?"

"Should I call Syrus? Yes! I should do that. It's been a week and I haven't heard back from him."

Spencer dialed Syrus and waited for him to pick up, HE continued to swing his chair around, Syrus finally picked up. The call.

"What took you so long buddy? What were you doing? Did I disturb you?" Spencer teased Syrus.

"Yes! You disturbed me. Unlike you, I am a busy person, I have a Kingdom to run."

"Ah!" Spencer made a painful groan. "I think I just heard my heartbreak!!"

"Shut it! Why did you call me?"

"I wanted to hear some gossip freshly out of the Palace." Spencer giggled.

Syrus breathed in deeply and tried to keep himself from banishing Spencer from the Kingdom. "There is nothing worth gossiping about in the Palace."

"So you are going to do this to your friend? I helped you out in every step of your life, I even got you a pretty girl and this is what I get? By the way, how is Anna? Is she getting used to the act?" Spencer lowered his voice while speaking.

"Hmm...SO far it's going as we have planned. I am waiting for a reaction from the duke." Syrus tapped his pen on the paper that he was reading.

"That's odd…" Spencer mumbled. "What did Myrtle say? Was she angry?"

"Hah! Don't even ask!"

"Now you are playing with my emotions! Just tell me what she did? And how huge was it?" He grinned as he waited for some juicy news.

"Nothing much! She is oddly supportive of my relationship with that woman." Syrus scoffed.

"Pfft!! (Clap)" Spencer laughed out loud and slapped his hand on the table. "Wow! Just what I expected! YOu know that is the sole reason I love Myrtle so much, She is so unpredictable." Spencer blurred out. Syrus's hand paused in mid air and his breath stopped unknowingly. He gulped in his saliva and moving his tongue across his lip to remove the dryness from it.

"Syrus? Are you there?" Spencer felt odd when Syrus didn't say anything.

"It's nothing, I will call you back when I am free."

"Okay," Spencer's lip curled up slightly before he ended the call. "Looks like our kitten has a lot of tricks up her sleeves," he mumbled to himself and chuckled lightly.
