Chapter Thirteen: Let's grant a wish for Queen Janessa.
Alexander stood on the royal balcony alone. He liked it that way especially when he had judgment to pass on. He looked around and his subjects both far and near were all silent as they waited for their king to pass judgment on the young lad kneeling on the wooden podium in the middle of the compound.
"What are the charges against this man?" King Alexander asked the lord with the scroll.
"Benjamin Osorio, charges brought against him is treason and threats to the crown and the gruesome killings of four children, His highness"
"People of Western Hemisphere as punishment for taking another's life, treason and threats to the crown, I king Alexander of Aradale hereby sanction and sentence this coward, Benjamin Osorio to death by hanging. This will take place outside the castle by noon in two days time unless there is new evidence proving otherwise. Throw him into the dungeon"
King Alexander heard the low murmur and the gasps of both relief and anger that came from his subjects. He nodded to his lead knight and the young lad was dragged away. King Alexander tried to leave too when he heard a voice.
"My son is innocent! I curse you King Alexander of Aradale. You shall know no peace. I curse you for taking my son away from me" The woman was a fragile woman that leaned on a stick for support. Alexander looked at her closely and he felt nothing for her.
"Your son murdered my children! He deserved to be flogged, hanged and flogged again. He is a vile being that needs to be rid of!" The voice came from the opposite side of the King's compound.
A younger woman with a tearful face screamed at the older woman. King Alexander felt his wolf crawl to be let out but he kept Max in line. His wolf, always tries to break free whenever he was threatened.
"Silence!" everywhere was quiet "My ruling stands. The execution shall take place in two days"
The knights tried to arrest the woman who just publicly threaten the king but Alexander waved them aside.
Alexander turned and left.
When Alexander opened the door to the royal dining room, he expected to see his whole family there including his bride who was conveniently absent.
"Finally, he is here!" A voice exclaimed as soon as Alexander entered the room. He recognized the voice. It belonged to someone he would have beheaded next for intruding.
"Lady Melvin, what do I owe this pleasure?" Alexander sat down on the chair only meant for the king of Aradale.
"His highness! I came as soon as I could to stop you from making this terrible mistake of marrying another Namura princess" Lady Melvin bowed before the king as she fumed and alongside her was her daughter, who also bowed before the king.
Alexander looked around and his eyes fell on Lady Melvin's daughter Eloise. Her eyes were naturally rooted to the table. She was a young petite blonde a year younger than Janessa and she was his third cousin once removed. Alexander acknowledges that Eloise was a pretty girl but she was not Janessa.
"Lady Melvin, I suppose you think your daughter would be a better match for me and Queen to Western Hemisphere?" Alexander saw the surprise that spared on Lady Melvin's face when he told her about her plans to play matchmaker between him and her daughter.
"His Highness! I wouldn't be so bold but if your highness thinks it then it must be right" Lady Melvin played the clueless cousin very nicely.
Alexander wanted nothing more than to throw his nice cousins to the dogs but courtesy demands he plays the nice host to a bunch of traitors with a smile on his face. Alexander wondered where his sister was and most importantly his Queen.
"I wasn't implying anything Lady Melvin. I have a Queen already. And I won't hesitant to throw…." Alexander wasn't able to finish his statement when his sister was announced.
"Princess Rosemund of Aradale"
A young princess walked inside the dining room. Her hair was midnight black and it plunged over her shoulders as she walked. She had saccharine sweet red lips that were blossom soft. She gives off a ladylike personality with a vivacious outlook. She had a sculpted shape which was twine-thin. Her waist was narrowed and she had a shimmering complexion. A pair of arched eyebrows looked down on sweeping eyelashes. Her delicate ears framed a button nose. A set of dazzling, angel white teeth gleamed as she smiled at her two cousins she greatly disliked, as second in the line of succession to the throne, she was skilled in the diplomatic cloak of never revealing her true intention.
Her enticing, constellation-blue eyes gazed at her brother over her puffy heart shaped lips that whispered for him to keep his calm. Princess Rosemund took the seat next to the king after she bowed to him. Alexander always hated when she did that.
"Cousins! It is nice to dine with you today" Rosemund said loudly
"Are you sure? I mean I could simple throw them into the…" Alexander didn't bother lowering his voice
"Alexander!" Rosemund threw him a look that got him to be quiet.
"Lady Melvin…Cousin Eloise, please… take a seat and dine with us"
Lady Melvin and Eloise bowed to the princess and took opposite seats and sat down. Rosemund looked around but the young Queen she was supposed to meet was nowhere in sight. She leaned closer to her brother.
"Where is your new Queen?"
Alexander stood up and walked out. He walked in long strides until he got to his chambers and pushed the door open. Janessa was curled up on the bed and a snake rolled on the floor preventing her from escaping.
"What do you think you are doing, Alexander?" Jamie asked as soon as the King entered the chamber.
"Thanks, Lucian for keeping my wife company while I was away" Alexander picked up his pet snake and placed it inside the cage.
Alexander opened the wardrobe behind them and took out another golden chain and tossed it on the bed.
"Why did you bring me here, his highness? What do you think you are doing?" Jamie asked as soon as she saw the chains.
"Granting your wish… Put it on"
