Chapter seventy four: Don't leave me to die
Alexander refused to blink. It was important to him that the man believed him. It was even more important than carrying out the promise himself.
He watched the man and waited for a second or two for him to affirm that he understood but the man didn't. What was the use of a tongue if it wasn't used to answer a question?
"Take his tongue, sir Walters!"
Alexander walked away as the screams of the man echoed behind him. Janessa weighed less than a feather to him but the warm fluid that dripped on his pants as he walked bothered him. Alexander refused to acknowledge that it was blood....her blood.
Then the dark forest became less dark and he could smell things a mile away. Then he heard her heart beat.
Trump! Trump!
She was alive but with each heart beat, the weaker the sound.
