Chapter 5 - The dinner

The harvest of the blessing from the moon goddess was done but the festival was far from over.

The blue had hit all the seven chosen's giving them back the life they had lost. The King wore his hood and left the place before the others changed back.

The events of the festival were one that he so don't want to talk about ever in his life. He had returned to his room fuming mad at the facts that had taken place.

He had so much on his plate and the moon goddess just thought to add some more things to him. He not only got a mate he never asked for but he also found that he had his senses heightened. But he had a feeling that more than just his senses were heightened.

It felt like his whole body was made more powerful, his strength and his speed. All of which scared him. As the alpha of alpha's he was already very strong and the curse just made it worse.

Not to mention the demon that was now toed to him. He could feel the amount of hatred the demon had for him, the urge to kill him was oozing out of the demon in high doses.

If he said that he had never had someone be so passionate to have him dead then he would be wrong. His life was surrounded by all kinds of crazies and that only increased by the day.

He changes out of his clothes and wore a white t-shirt and blue pants. He let on a pair of white sneakers, he stood by the window with his headphones on.

The melody in he listened to made every other sound fade in the world. He let out a deep breath. It was relieving to know that he didn't have to bear the noises all night.

He knew that he still had the dinner to attend to. And that meant coming face to face with the partner that the moon has blessed him with. It was not something that he wanted but he wasn't given much of an option.

He turned around and gazed at his reflection in the mirror. He had the image of a child, am image that had haunted him for a very long time.

He had been cursed by the moon goddess many years ago, sadly even if he was given a second chance to relive the day he got cursed. He would still allow himself to get cursed.

Only the crazy woman knew why she made him a child forever, he could occasionally change into his older self but his true form is blocked by the curse.

He had searched above and beyond for the cure, he wasn't so lucky. It was so ironic that the goddess claims her blessings are always with him, when he has only ever felt her curses.

"Alpha," a voice sounded behind him. With his special headphones, the king couldn't hear him.

"Noam," the person called again grabbing his shoulder and turning him away from the mirror. "Everything is ready, you can proceed to dine with the chosen," the man informed to him.

Noam gave him a lazy gaze, he ruffled his hair and sighed. The thought of meeting that demon drove him mad, the audacity of the moon goddess to fate him to a person who wanted his head was just shocking.

"What is wrong?" the male who had come to call him asked to him.

"What to say to you Dae, you are not going to understand," he let out.

"I'm here to listen and if you prefer Lana the..."

"No, don't call Lana," Noam panicked. He didn't want his sister to find out about his mate. She would go on and on about it and he wouldn't get any peace. And when she finds out that tits the demon who wants him dead then she will gut him herself and he will have to live with the emptiness that his loss would cause him.

"Let's just proceed, I am hungry," he diverted Daegan's attention from the real problem. He was going to keep everything to himself, it was of importance to his sanity that no one in his pack found out about his secrets.

He had the headphones on, only the music volume was reduced so that he could hear only those closest to him.

He walked down the empty corridor of the restaurant, he could smell a scent in the air. It was a mix of coconut oil and mint. For some reason, the smell was intoxicating to him. He could feel every ounce of blood in him come alive while he caught a whiff of that smell.

All his senses reacted when he smelled it. He had no doubt that it was his slave that was making him react that way. And he hated it.

He removed a small pocket size spray and sprayed the air around him. Once he had smelled the spray, he lost the scent of mint.

He felt relieved when he no longer had to smell the demon. Because not only could he breath in what the creature smelt like but what he felt. And it didn't help that all his senses are heightened. They all were made stronger.

He kept walking forward trying to decide what to do about the demon. They were fated and the safest place to keep him was where he could watch him. Anything that happened to the man, he could feel it.

He hated pain hence letting him lose was not an option. Demons were a magnet for trouble and that meant that his life was to be in constant trouble if he was free in the world.

But what excuse to give to his family to the fact that he wanted to take in a demon. He had no idea how to convince his sister to let the being stay with them, he only needed to keep him close and not interested in embracing him as a mate.

He was the alpha of alpha's and that meant that he didn't settle for just anyone.
