Green, different shades of it, all mixed with the blinding gaze coming directly from the sun, the rays sharp enough to blind the human eye.
A hand covered in mud arched above the flickering eyelids of a disoriented man, his sun kissed palm blocking off the direct sunlight from reaching his pupils.
His eyes trailed from his hand to his arm, he was certain that something was wrong, he knew for certain that he had a sleeve shirt on the previous night. Or had it been longer than a day?
Three birds circled around him from a far distance in the sky, their shadow was all he could make out. His mind was still butchered up trying to make out his surroundings.
His fingers twitched, the tips grazing roughly against the roughed texture of the prickly thorns and stones beneath him.
{Grass.} He thought, and lots of it, a bug crawled on his neck, causing the man to jolt from where he laid face forward.
"Shit!." He cursed, he was shirtless, and the once profuse sweat on his skin had fully dried up, causing goosebumps to form on his skin, resulting from the chills he felt.
"Where...am I?."
[Can you hear me?.].
A voice called out, the rate of the man's heartbeat rapidly accelerated, he looked over his shoulder, checking if perhaps there was someone else with him.
The man used his clean hand to wipe his forehead, still using his other hand to block off the sunlight. His bare chest, covered in sand and plant debris.
"Where is my shirt? Where are my things? How... How did I get here?!." He yelled out in frustration, his hand resting on the side of his forehead in pure frustration.
[Calm down! You're too wild! You'll hurt yourself there!.]
The same voice resounded in his head, just that this time, it was accompanied shortly by an ear deafening sound, that caused the man to block both his ears with his palms.
Following suit were uncalculated flashes of disorganized events, memories, which all seemed to blurry to make out and too loud to concentrate on.
But the one thing he could remember distinctly was the sound in his head. He was certain of it, though the voice was foreign, it seemed so close to home.
"My phone!." He cried, his eyes scanning the perimeters, crossing out everything useless, as he walked further up north.
{I should be headed in the right direction out of this forest, it feels like I've been here before.} He thought, his body acting fully against his brain.
His gaze landed on landmarks that seemed all too familiar to him. An object stubbed his toe, making him realize that he had no shoes on.
"My phone." He said with relief, he picked it up, examining it's sides, making sure it wasn't broken.
He scrolled through his contacts running faster and faster, desperate now more than ever to find a way of exit, any exit would do.
His attempt wasn't futile, as all his running landed him not only out of the forest, but led him to a road. He resembled a deer running straight at a moving car at night, staring at the incoming car with so much consternation and timidity.
He used his arm to make a cross block, his primal instincts coming to his aid, at the very dire moment.
***********
"I want to join your pack!." Karla screamed out, her hand on her head, her weight rested on her knees, her head held up high.
"Dritan! What the fuck is going on here?!." Cora questioned, her eyes not wandering away from Karla for a second.
Karla looked behind her, and gasped due to shock and fright. Everyone behind her had passed out, they were knocked out cold.
{Why am I not unconscious?!.} Karla voiced inside her head, panicked at her own self.
"I want to be a..." her voice was drowned out by the sarcastic tone of the Mysterious pack leader.
"We heard you the first time. You were very consice about it." The assumed leader said, strutting over to her, his white shirt ripped of it's sleeves, exposing his biceps.
Karla sprang to her feet, getting a feel of her numb fingers, stretching them out, curling them into a fist, ready to defend herself.
{She's not unconscious, damn it, the spell didn't work!. How the hell is she still standing?.} Dritan questioned, his pupils dilated.
{You cannot let them intimidate you, for all I know, am definitely an asset to them that can't easily be disposed of. Just by one look at them, I can see, they're petrified.} Karla deduced, a slight sense of cockiness rubbing off on her, calming her tensed nerves.
The man finally stood face to face with the woman who attracted him and propelled his body to take action when his mind was totally against it
She was so addictive to him, like a dirty pleasure he couldn't overcome.
*Punch*
A punch came flying directly at him, throwing him off his guard, the first time in years something or someone had taken him by surprise!.
It landed right on his left cheek, it didn't hurt him, at the very least, her on the other hand retrieved her fist, rubbing it hard.
Both of his pack members stood in awe, their faces frozen in shock from the act of sheer audacity and stupidity.
The punch made his head turn slightly to the side, his tongue on impulse rolled around his mouth.
[It's her!. She's the one!.]
{No, it cannot possibly be her, I don't accept it, you can be wrong}.
[Don't be so hardheaded!. I've been around for centuries and am of certain that she's the one.]
{You're saying that this stubborn stripper is...} Karla's voice pulled him vigorously out of his head.
"Listen to me, I don't know what the hell you did to these people, but you have two choices. Either I report you all to the LCPD or you let me become a part of your pack." Karla stated, not giving them an easy option.
"We have to leave now! The police are getting closer!." Dritan hollered from where he stood, taking a step closer.
"Your time is running out." Karla reminded the three of them, as she stared eye to eye with the leader.
"Just grab her and let's get the fuck out of here!." Cora yelled, her eyes scanning the area, taking a sweep at alternative exits.
Karla grinned at him, a sick grin, one showing that she knew she had an upper hand in the situation.
"You're just a stubborn pain in the ass that's drunk on your own stupidity and simplicity." He crooned unequivocally.
In seconds, he swept Karla off her feet, taking both his pack members by surprise. Karla herself was stunned by the sudden turn out of events.
She raised up her head, to see a leg flying above her in midair, pointed sharply, and the next thing she saw was utter blankness and darkness.
[Stubborn bastard! You just knocked out your mate!.]
