Chapter 35 - 035

The air became thinner in the bedroom as the heat exuding from both bodies was enough to melt metal. Karla shook her head in realisation, whilst she cursed herself inwardly for appearing so weak.

Especially in front of him, for the third time since they had met each other.

"You should rest, you just got back from your job. I need some sleep too." Karla announced, pulling away from him, her feet crawling underneath the covers, seeking shelter.

"I don't enjoy seeing you cry, for what it's worth, all my intentions are pure." She heard him say on his way out of the bedroom. She instinctively turned to gaze at him, but he had vanished before her eyes could behold his.

"You've really done it now." She nurtured to herself, her index finger caressing her lower lip lazily, her eyelids slowly closing in a deep slumber.

While some slept at night, others stayed awake under the darkened sky, as creatures of the night should.
