Karla now fully understood the meaning of that underrated saying, she realised now how hard it was to take back something that was already said.
She noticed his mouth open to defend himself, but he stayed silent instead, making the situation worse.

"In what way is this job diminishing your dignity?." He asked, finally ending the awkward silence hovering about the room.
"Look sir, I get it, you're the one of, if not the most important person in the city. You run this huge silver company, and you're an asset to the nation. So it's understandable that you have zero understanding of a common person's daily problems." Karla explained, trying to ease into an apology.
