Mother was someone who confused me a lot. Sometimes, it was hard to trust her. And other times, I felt guilty for not trusting her. But one thing was sure- something was off about her. Neither Dem nor I could find out anything. We could not do anything even if we found her suspicious because of the lack of evidence. There was just no evidence, other than our speculation.
Hearing it from Evelyn was no surprise at all. She was not blind. And Mother's behavior was sometimes odd as well.
"Evelyn surely has reasons for saying so," I said. "It is not up to me. It is up to you what you want to believe."
