A dishonorable discharge was the worst possible way for someone in the military to be removed.
In the age of technology, anyone who was considering hiring, could check someone's records for previous employment places and reasons they had been removed. This didn't mean much, but when it came to the military, the soldiers were quite respected.
Soldiers with honorable discharges were much more likely to get a job than normal people with the same qualifications. This was because the employers and everybody else believed that if they were willing to risk their lives to protect the country, they were a good person.
The general consensus on soldiers was that they were well educated, disciplined, respectful and hard working.
However, when it came to dishonorable discharges, the result was the complete opposite.
