Verinia raised her hand to knock on the door. She thought that she might have to wait for a while, but surprisingly, the wood parted almost at the exact moment that she had knocked.
The Bishop Matron smiled kindly at the First Princess, and moved aside to let her in. "Your Highness."
"Bishop Matron," she greeted back, nodding her head in acknowledgment. The air inside of the room had the slightly sweet smell of incense, and upon smelling it, she could immediately tell that it was not ordinary worship incense.
The difference in scents made her frown lightly.
The Bishop Matron tactfully retreated from the room, closing the doors to leave behind Her First Highness and the Cardinal Matron.
This was the first time that the Cardinal Matron was coming out of seclusion in a very long time, and it had been specifically for the purpose of this meeting.
