"I wouldn't have called it an obstacle, per se." Talented Consort Viola smiled with a sense of accomplishment. "I'm the Su'Darath's mother."
"Then you are receiving the Sovereign's favour."
"Naturally."
Empress Lysirea tried to restrain her disapproving expression and instead settled for picking up a cup of coffee and taking a hearty sip of the hot, bitter drink.
The unpleasantness of the untampered brew distracted her enough from her building anger that she managed to swallow down her words with some difficulty.
"Do you think he will make you Su'Ailfi?"
Talented Consort Viola's smile fell, and she turned her head up to look at the Empress with a void stare. It was uncertain what she was thinking, but it was definitely nothing good.
