"Have you been here this entire time?" General Elai came to a stop beside her and glanced at the statue to Fyria, which Verinia was still intently staring at. Unexpectedly, he kneeled beside her and made obeisance. "Sal'rr'esthna Fyria."
The First Princess couldn't help but look at him strangely. "How do you know the Serze dialect?"
"My father is half a descendant of House Rifthall, so he taught me the religious rites and the dialect." General Elai bowed deeply, then sat back on his haunches.
"I didn't know that." Verinia looked at him sideways again. "So you're three-fourths of the old blood."
He nodded. "I'm not the only one."
Verinia was aware that the court of Ginzai had received many New Oaltise courtiers and likewise. However, the matter of the foreign ambassadors to the court of New Oalta was handled entirely by the Hall of Legislature, and they were stationed outside of the palace so she would not see them.
