Water and mud splashed as the horses ran through the puddles. In the distance the sun is starting to sink behind the mountain ranges, creating a dark shadow that looms over the path of dirt the knights and Darius are taking.
Darius turned to look at the sinking sun for a moment, his purple eyes mixing with the warm hues of the giant ball of flame.
He sighed irritably, thinking that this trip had been nothing but a waste of time.
They need to find other ways to obtain the second pearl but so far, he can't think of anything.
But who can blame him? It's not like his previous predicaments allowed him to form any connection with important people.
Consumed by his thoughts, the young man failed the figures hiding at the edge of the forest.
"It's time to put him to the test," one of the figures said before passing a crystal sphere to his ally.
The person started rolling the sphere in one hand, a smirk appearing on his lips.
