Grimm was the first to pick his job going with the botanist. Basic job able to know what planet life to harvest to create minor healing potion, minor mana potion and minor poison resist potions.
"Well since Grimm is going for botanist I'll get the scout job. Based off what it says it seems like it'll help me with movement and getting a lay of the land" Swift said.
Nitro pipped up say "well if we are getting jobs fitting our classes I'll go for the alchemist job. It'll help me create new ammunition types. As long as Lazy over there can build the crafting tables I need" he gestured towards lazy.
"Since you guys are going for those and I enjoy cooking I'll get the chef job. Since it's now a survival game we actually need to eat. Now which way to New Orleans?"
The group opened the map page and realized it was blank.
Looks like they will need the cartography job to create a map.
Swift took a couple steps in the woods saying "I kinda know where we are. I think we are close to my house. If my truck is there we can just I don't know, fix it up and drive there? I know how to get there. Although, anywhere else outside there, like further out of state, I have no idea."
"Well how about you, Swift, lead the way. Once we get to your house and are able to get the truck running. Grimm can go harvest plants and I can go harvest some material to start building."
Everyone agreed with Lazy and started to leave the wooded area they are in with Swift leading the way.
Unbeknownst to the players a dangerous creature was watching and slowly following them.
While everyone was walking they also opened up some other tabs.
The map tab was blank, needing the cartography job to reveal it.
The player message board tab wasn't working saying "Please Report to a City Hub to Work"
The group assumed if they made it to New Orleans then they would be able to active this tab.
What surprised the players the most was the friend tab was still working. It showed that the other people on the group were online and active. Swift and Lazy where the only two that had other friends on this server.
"Holy shit guys! I can message some of the people on my friends list. Granted it's only other guild leaders" Swift explained.
"Ya I have a couple people on mine. Just some solo players I randomly teamed up with during some raids. Swift see if you can give them a call" asked Lazy.
"Sure I'll give xxHammerFistxx a call. Hopefully his guild, Crouching Tiger Hidden Fart, is still with him" Chuckled Swift as he said the guild name.
Swift pressed his name and sent a voice chat invitation.
He could hear the ringing of the invite as he waited for Hammer to pick up.
"Hello? Swift is that you?! Damn! We can actually talk to other people! How are you man!"
"Hammer great to hear from you! I have a couple other guild leaders to call after you. My guild and I are here. We are heading to New Orleans. Was thinking about trying to get all the guilds I'm friends with to meet up somewhere. What's close for you guys?"
"Ahh about that. We are based all over honestly. Most members are actually in the Mid West. Me and some close friends are in Cali and I have a few more players not far from New Orleans honestly. I was actually doing the same as you. Most guild are also scattered around the nation. We are planning to meet at Kansas City, center part for a lot of guild. Would you mind picking up my other members and bring them along?"
"Ya sure we can do all that for you. Glad to hear some familiar people are doing the same as us. It'll take us a while to get to Kansas City but a couple hours for New Orleans. Who are we looking for?"
"ChickenFriedStake, WaffleHouse4U and TekiYork are the members in New Orleans. They are all Psionic Snipers."
"Dope dope. How's the situation at the city?"
"Not good. The barrier that was in the game that kept monsters out is no longer around. The larger guilds Black&Gold and BabyKakes are doing what they can to have patrols and keep the city safe. The said they'll wait for another 2-3 weeks before all packing up and heading to Kansas City. They say it's lots of goblins attacking."
"Roger that man. We'll head over. We are actually going to get a vehicle and ride over. Help who ever we can when we meet them."
"Thanks man. I'll let the three guys know about you picking them up."
The two hung up. Swift explained the plan with Lazy chiming in.
"While you were chatting with Hammer I messaged some of my friends. Got 2 people in Miami heading to New Orleans also. And my friend Moonlighter and her guild/band is in New Orleans now."
The rest of the group felt kinda bad about not making friends online and decided that once they get to the City they will start to add more people.
As this all happened the group was walking finally reaching Swift's house. He ran inside to find his car keys. He came back out starting her truck and see it had full tank of gas.
"Okay guys so apparently the truck is working and actually has a full tank of gas. [IRL] I only have half a tank so this works. Nitro, Power and I will gather some supplies. Lazy and Grimm go do what you guys said"
The party all nodded and headed off.
Grimm went back into the woods to look for the plants he needed and Lazy took out his tools to collect his material.
