Johto Region, Evergreen Town, February 24, 1452, Friday.
It has been about 4 years since I reincarnated into this world, which I'm sure is a pokemon world at least a parallel maybe, and about 3 years since I notice the obvious pokémons, or more specifically grass Pokemons around my surroundings, I did accept this reality more easily than I thought, it must be the fact that I have no attachment to my previous life other than teaching....no family, no wife, just pure stress by simply living, thou I did love teaching more than I give myself credit for it. I would've love to teach here as well because of all the knowledge I own in this world but it seems some of them will be less useful, and I can't teach here willy nilly because of this war or whatever I have to participate'
As I monologue about my situation I unconsciously narrowed my brow thinking of what is currently unfolding in front of me.

A child with midnight blue hair can be seen furrowing his eyebrows as he intently stare at the text book in front of him, more accurately on the 'screen' in front of him.
'You can't be serious right? I mean I know when I was a teen I'm enthusiastic when it comes to reincarnation and transmigration novels with systems and stuff, and also likes to spend my free time into playing Pokemon games but seriously this cliche being applied to me? No, just no please. On top of that we're in a war? Come on I'm a Physics Teacher not a military commander...well if you count commanding man childs as one....'
As the child, Austin Sparrow rambles in his head in disbelief, his mind went from the serious topic towards the 'i miss ordering those man childs that made me stressed and relieved me as well' until his child body couldn't handle the many thoughts he is having that he is forced to stop and try to calm himself down.
'Calm down, my mind may be that of an adult but my body is still that of a child, for now let's accept this fact that I somehow reincarnated here, worrying about that now will just bring me an early death in this chaotic time, as I have always said to myself... I leave it to you my future self ( ╹▽╹ ). I shall tackle this topic when I have the means and power to unveil what really transpired because why not? If my finds does not bear fruit, then will I accept the fact that this is all a second chance and not some voodoo so being cast me into. As the child's blue green eyes stared straight, what was supposed to be air I'm front of him is now a screen that says "Belated Congratulations for becoming aware of your surroundings, As your capability reach the minimum requirements, you have now been granted access to a system that shall assist you via information and knowledge you own and will own from both lives. The system shall help maximize this ability."
As Austin again tried not to burden his body of stressful thinking, it took a few minutes to calm down and search the screen for anything to tap, seeing none he just randomly swat it as if swatting dust to avoid suspicion from the other clansmen around him. Yes Austin is part of the Evergreen Clan responsible for the Imperial Grass starter of the Johto Region, Chikorita. The Evergreen Clan is apparently, situated in a secret area in the Ilex forest blessed and guarded by Celebi, as the patriarch of this clan is recognize by Celebi, It is also one of the three major clan responsible for the three imperial starters. At least that's what the adults in the clan told us, their definitely hiding more, but I won't pry hehehehe why would I want trouble knocking on my own door? A trouble at a level I can't handle.
It seems that unlike the Other major clan, the Evergreen Clan is more lenient as they focused more on controlling the battles in the back and providing support and healing from behind, granted by their grass pokemon's versatility in the warzone, meanwhile the Aqua Blue and Blazing Red Clan are like the sword and shield in the battlefield. Even though I have an adults mind I still find it amazing how balanced they worked out(well I didn't participate in any war after all, just did some basic practice on how to hold, aim and fire a gun for basic defense in my past life).
As Austin's hand landed and pass through the 'screen', he visibly saw the text inside the screen changing and forming into a rather long text stating "You shall be granted with other basic bonuses once you have picked a starter. For now it will be unlocked as you have not gained the requirement needed to be met. CAUTION: The system will only assist you permanently on knowledges and affinities, other form if assistance that will be available is only temporary and will disappear with time"
'Affinities? that's new" this word somehow made me feel that my parallel universe theory is a bit right. With another swat of a hand the screen vanish and his knowledge of pokemon and other type of knowledges from his past life and now seem more clearer.
Just as he was about to dive deep in thought again, a slender teen approach him from behind.
"Now now, what is my little brother thinking that has your brows furrowing like that?" said the teen with amusement.
Austin flinch, surprised by the sudden voice, but turned around excitedly exclaiming "Brother!!"
"And hello to you too" said his older brother while chuckling in amusement and fondness.
In this life one of the reason why he accepted his new reality rather quickly can be attributed to the fact that he finally have a blood relative that truly cares for him even if it is only him and his brothers left. This also allowed him the kind of childhood he always hoped he had.
Forgetting about the matters at hand for a moment, he dive right into his brother's awaiting arms.
"Did you prepare yourself for the upcoming ceremony next week?"
"uhhh"
" I'll take it that you forgot, seeing as that book in your hand is more interesting for you" his brother teased making him blushed due to embarrassment. Scrambling to change the subject he blurted out what came to mind at first.
"Um, brother aren't you supposed to be making preparations to leave soon too?"
"It has been postponed for a month, and I'll count this as a blessing so I can help you familiarize yourself in handling and caring for your pokémons" "Pluume~" his brother replied with his Vileplume agreeing happily with his trainer.
"Really?!" with that Austin's face grew brighter, never even in his past life, have someone who he can cherish and cherishes him back.
After a few more exchange of words the two decided to walk back in the direction of their home from the park.

February 24, 1452, Night
'After the ceremony on Monday, it will be the real start of all the things I dread to happen, it made me fearful but also excited and hopeful. In this life even though my mother choose to die to be with father, I did not have to go through my childhood alone anymore. This is a new life given to me whether it is free or not will I only be able to know with time as I proceed forward, but whoever did this I'm still grateful for having a second chance in life granted. I wonder if Ash and the other famous characters from the anime exist or will exist here... Thinking of the teen made me recall all my rowdy students... ah I really miss teaching, maybe I can be a teacher or a professor again in this world if I survive this war. If possible I don't want to teach a battalion of hormonal teens and instead teach a more rowdy battalion of little hellions (aka. becoming a kindergarten teacher). Maybe I can be a teacher to those that will rise on top if I'm older than them...
Haha now I'm getting excited, as I have said before, I shall leave the troublesome thinking and things to my future self with a matured mind. For me? I'm a child right now as I should be, so having more straight forward thoughts and dreams are easier, my goal shall be to get strong and survive the war and also to protect my relatives.'
With my thoughts whirling from one thought to another I couldn't help but let an excited giggle, Ansel seeing his precious baby brother giggle let out a huff of amusement and fondness. With that, the two brothers went to their bunk bed thinking of two different yet similar thoughts about getting stronger and protecting.

Midnight
Deep in Ilex forest you can see a Vileplume that looks similar to the one of Ansel had but behaves differently as it stared at the Pokemons squirming in agony as they slowly die of poison, seeing this Vileplume then proceeds to eat out their poison cores with a cry.
Witnessing all this, a silhouette of a teen just stared coldly as he ordered his Vileplume to injest more poison cores.
The teen then suddenly brought a gentle smile as though he is thinking of someone.
"I should really hurry back now, Don't want that Ansel stealing my spot again" with this the teen then started heading toward an open area, a few minutes later no silhouette of a teen could be found seemingly vanishing from sight.
