Chen Xing panted, turning on random street corners to shake off the interdimensional agents. They had been on his tail for years, crossing over dimensions just so their information wouldn't be leaked out to the public. Interdimensional traveling was, after all, a dangerous and risky process. One misstep in a dimension, and you could cause every universe to collapse. But these people had chased him for years--years! And he hadn't even done anything wrong!
Chen Xing reached a dead end, his chest heaving up and down. He looked down at the watch on his wrist, cursing when he realized he only had a few minutes left before the rift closed completely.
"Freeze, Professor Xing! Under the law of Planet Q, station 3, you are hereby under arrest for ignoring government protocols and traveling through the dimensions by--" the agent was cut off by the sound of Chen Xing's loaded gun. Immediately after, the male agent ducked behind the alley wall right before Chen Xing fired. The sound resonated throughout the alley, making Xing's ears ring.
"I have no time to chit-chat with you interdimensional agents!" Chen Xing yelled over his shoulder as he jumped up the alley walls and onto the roof. With the two agents hot on his tail, Xing ran harder, his footsteps pounding against the rooftops. And there it was--no too far up ahead--was a rift in the space. With a few more meters to go, Chen Xing yelled in triumph.
And fell off the roof.
It wasn't a far fall, thank god, but it was also high enough to dislocate Chen Xing's shoulder when he landed. He yelped, gritting his teeth in pain. Above him, he could hear the two interdimensional agents talking to their superiors over the comm link, trying to track him down through his identification ship.
Hah! Those suckers still think I'd keep that time bomb on me? Chen Xing silently sneered. The identification chips were always placed into the human body after birth, and nobody on Plant Q didn't have one--unless they somehow dug it out from under their flesh or never got one since birth.
Chen Xing quietly waited on the ground, and harshly pushed his shoulder back into place. He grinds his teeth together, sighing when the flash of pain finally disappears. Glancing at his watch one again, he curses his timing. There was only one minute left until the dimensional rift closed. Now, he had two choices: make a run for the rift and hope for the best, or, hope the agents find the rift first and assume he had already made it through.
Both choices weren't very favorable, but then again, this world had sucked. Omegaverse worlds always sucked. And so, Chen Xing made his reckless decision and leaped back up onto the rooftops. The interdimensional agents were nowhere to be seen, and he sighed in relief. Making haste, Chen Xing ran the last few meters to the dimensional rift, and jumped up and into it, disappearing into the void.
