"Good Morning Traveler, welcome to Altissia and The Gate of Worlds"... I looked over to see a beautiful angel behind the closest counter looking at me with a professional smile, she beckoned me with her delicate hand, and unconsciously, I approached her and began to ask questions about this place.
'Ah, I see '... the angel lady was as forthcoming with answers as I was with questions. Her "Creator" built this city to be a platform from which we can Travel to different worlds. Each world will be unique in almost every way (if the angel's words are to be believed) and the only world currently available to Travelers is the world known as "The Four Nations".
Before watching the "Introduction to the world" that she offered which will supposedly explain what I'm about to get myself into, I looked at the stream chatroom for the first time and my eyes lit up! I've gotten 2 days' worth of my normal income in this short amount of time...' I'm going to be so rich...SO RICH! '
"What was I doing again? Oh yeah, I was about to see the watcher's comments... "
Netizen 73: Wow, beauty is gushing out of every little part of this amazing city, Altissia!|
Netizen 80: Focus brothers! Did anyone catch what the pretty lady said? I was busy being dazed and I cannot recall!|
Netizen 81: Humph, serves you right for not paying attention. She said that there are numerous worlds to which one can go using the Gate of the Worlds however, only a world called "The Four Nations" is available for Travelers at the moment.|
Netizen 80: The Four Nations? What the heck is this? I've never heard of such a place. Is this an original world created by Oscar's heir?|
Netizen 60: Based on my observations this must be an original world. It must have its own ecosystem, structure, life, economy, currency, etc... This would explain all of those weird terms and restrictions within the documents we were given. It's all geared around letting Travelers integrate into the world but not directly affect it. It's like were are going to be playing a game? I don't know a better way to put it.|
Watching these discussions in the chat I can't help but agree, this seems to be the young Oscar's attempt at making a unique world letting Travelers partake in the creation which closely mimics players and games. ' However, this will be nothing like that primitive and failing game industry, this is more like a real-world for many reasons but a big one is because it's going to hurt if I die in this new world... '
' WAIT CURRENCY!? '...I think about it carefully and after a bit, a malicious smile unconsciously appeared on my face. If letting people watch my stream will get me more than enough Blue Coins to sustain my body in the real world then if I can succeed in this new world, I can get what I've always lacked. A fortune....and with it, power and fame; I can turn this "Four Nations" into my own little domain since Mr. Oscars has sworn not to interfere once the world is up and going. It will just reset at a certain time but I can just start over at that time, and the reset will be quite a few years down the road anyways if the 1-year required stay is any indicator.
' Yes, I think this is how I'll get everything I've ever wanted, and this time, I won't let anyone stand in my way….' The rules state that Beta Testers won't be able to watch others' streams once they enter since the only function allowed is the on/off function for streaming, and after 6 months the chat forums between Beta Testers will be enabled.....streamers won't even be able to read the comments left by netizens on their streams once they start this new life and all of these things will allow me the chance I need...
At this point, it dawned on me exactly what was going to happen to me over the next year. I'm going to an alien planet and will be integrating into their society for at least 1 year but potentially more if I decide to stay...."I'm really going to get a new life huh?"
"Yes Traveler, this will be a new life in a sense and I hope you enjoy your stay" the angel answered my unintentionally spoken allowed question. I looked at her and then at the ticket in her hand. It looked like an old-school theater ticket with four different colored symbols on the four quadrants of the ticket that clearly represented four elements.
I took the ticket and placed it on my forehead as instructed but then, everything went black, and high-intensity dramatic music began playing and the introduction to "The Four Nations" started...
