Chapter 44 - Swift escape - We have a train to rob

"So how did you find me?" Perros asked.

"Simple. When you said you will get in touch with me after the tournament... I didn't believed you a word." Fabricio plainly explained.

"So, when you had your last fight with Ben, I watched you from a bush nearby. He gave you quite a beating... I couldn't believe my eyes after the explosion, but I was still curious about what was going to happen next. Anna knocked you out, Bill soon showed up and brought you here. Well, and I had no choice but to get you out of here..." He added.

"Why do you care so much about me?" Perros asked in confusion.

Fabricio looked at Perros.

"Do I REALLY have to answer that?" Fabricio said in a touching tone.

"Oh, you want to join my gang... right~" Perros realized.

Their escape seemed to be successful. They rode quietly for a while until...

"What's that sound?" Fabricio asked cautiously.

He looked left and right, but this sound had a closer source.

"Sorry~ I haven't eaten in a while..." Perros laughed nervously as his stomach growled.

Perros ate and their ride calmed down again.

"You should have said something, if you were hungry..." Fabricio said.

"Don't worry, I'm fine now---" Perros' smile was interrupted by the sound of the ground rumbling.

"That wasn't you, was it?" Fabricio asked in suspicion.

"Ehm..." Perros sounded as they both turned their sight behind them.

"Is that..." Fabricio said unsurely.

"A crazy amount of officers riding horses?" Perros sighed.

"Yeah..." He added.

Perros and Fabricio rushed like the wind with the officers at their backs. More and more kept coming.

"Shouldn't we start shooting?!" A man's voice echoed in the distance behind.

"Wait..." The blue dressed man said and threw a dice.

"Ah... eight..." He smiled with pleasure.

"FIRE! FIRE!" Azraq shouted vigorously.

"He's wanted dead or alive, right now dead is better than nothing..." He spoke again.

Perros turned his head and saw someone he had never seen before.

"Fab, who is that?" Perros asked, pointing to the crowd of people far behind them.

"Do NOT ever call me Fab again!" Fabricio retorted in annoyance while trying to avoid being shot with the cart.

Fabricio handed the steering over to his companion and moved to the back of the cart. As Fabricio leaned out of the cart, he squinted into the distance.

"Well..." Fabricio gulped.

"That's Azraq." He added in a slightly shaky voice.

Perros looked at him with incredulous expression.

"Ass-crack, really?" Perros was serious.

Fabricio looked away for a moment with an blank look, then returned to the driver's seat.

"Just shoot their horses, they won't be able to follow us that quickly..." Fabricio suggested.

"That's unethical." Perros turned to him quickly.

"I will just shoot THEM..." He added, reaching for his pistols, remembering that he was lucky he only had clothes on, let alone guns.

"That's... what I said." Fabricio objected, throwing his pistol at Perros.

"I meant the officers..." Perros loaded the gun.

They looked at each other in complete silence, with only the sound of bullets whizzing by them.

Perros faced the horde of officers that was still pursuing them. After a while, he looked over at Fabricio.

"I'm a good marksman, not that I'm not..." Perros praised himself.

"But it's just that no matter how much I shoot, there' still the same number of them..." He added thoughtfully.

Fabricio paused for a moment and then swapped places with Perros, who was unsure of his driving skills with the cart, so he lent the wheel to Fabricio's companion.

"You see, with a crowd like that..." Fabricio lifted his instrument from the back of the cart, a smile appearing on his face.

"A REAL performance is needed." He added, pointing the headstock in their direction.

Fabricio cracked his knuckles and his smile became even wider.

"Prepare to be blown away by THIS!" Fabricio shouted, hitting the strings as hard as he could.

Perros impatiently turned to see what was about to happen. He waited and waited, but suspicion began to grow within him.

"You forgot to load or---" Perros was interrupted by a huge explosion that occurred somewhere in the horde.

The great number of officers seemed to be stopping.

"Okay... like I said nothing." He added, refocusing on driving.

Fabricio remained standing even after he repelled the pursuers.

"Stand down soldier." Perros jokingly said.

Fabricio fell on his back, still awake.

"Yeah, give me a minute..." Fabricio's voice slowly faded.

"He's gonna be fine." A male voice sounded next to Perros.

He has completely forgotten about this person. Perros hadn't heard a word from him up until now.

"Um... And you are who?" Perros bluntly asked.

"Fabricio's companion, O---" The man was interrupted by Perros, who mistakenly guessed her name.

"Onion!" Perros said with absolute certainty.

Otto was left speechless, turned to Perros and just stared at him.

"Sure..." Otto said carelessly.

"How did you meet Fabio? You know how I did? Well,---" Perros kept talking, but Otto was slowly getting a vacant expression.

"Go with Fabricio, they said. It would be fun, they said. But no one told me what I was getting into..." Otto said to himself mentally.

"I should have stayed home. I had a promising trading career..." He added.

"---are you even listening?" Perros asked suspiciously.

"Of course. Your life story is very interesting..." Otto quickly retorted.

"T-That wasn't..." Perros paused thoughtfully.

"Or was it?" He added.

After several hours, Fabricio finally came to. He looked around in confusion and noticed that they had escaped.

"Perfect..." Fabricio said softly.

"Oh, you're finally awake!" Perros cheerfully said.

"Otto, are we heading for the train?" Fabricio asked.

"Yeah---" Otto was interrupted by Perros.

"Train? What train?" Perros found himself wondering.

"We are going to rob a train..." Fabricio plainly said.

"I guessed as much. But what for?" Perros asked.

"Look at yourself..." Fabricio pointed at Perros.

"You need proper equipment... Clothes, guns, etc." He added.

"But I don't see any railroads..." Perros looked around.

"That's because we still have a long way to go... So sit down on your ass and wait" Fabricio said imperiously.

"When I am done with you, you will truly be the embodiment of the title Bandazai..." He added with a smile.
