Chapter 30 - No more mysteries - Koon explains

"What was THAT?!" Bruno exclaimed in a surprise.

"I was not expecting that..." Koon mumbled.

"Expecting what?" Nazo asked suspiciously.

"Your Friend---" Koon was interrupted by Nazo.

"Our captain..." Nazo corrected Koon, a slight smile appearing on his face.

"Your CAPTAIN seems to have a second element..." Koon explained.

"And that is good? Right?" Bruno asked doubtfully.

"Well, in my lifetime I have seen few people who could use two elements..." Koon looked at the temple.

"So yeah... it's pretty good." He added and looked back at Bruno.

Nazo headed towards the temple.

"Where are you going? Don't leave me here with that monster!" Bruno overreacted.

Koon grunted in annoyance as he looked at Bruno.

"I have a feeling we need to get them out..." Nazo said, turning back to them.

"And YOU are coming with me." He added, pulling Bruno away by his collar.

"You know what, I changed my mind..." Bruno said calmly.

"Let me stay!" He added throwing a tantrum.

Nazo sighed and continued towards the temple.

"How did they ever get together..." Koon thought to himself.

"Hey... let me give you my first advice." Koon said.

Nazo stopped and Bruno calmed down.

"When ya get closer to the stairs, there are some brick that can be moved..." Koon said.

"That'll get ya to your cap'n faster..." He added and rolled back inside.

Nazo smirked a little and was about to continue, but Koon's voice resounded again.

"And make sure to come back, I still have some business with your cap'n." Koon said.

Bruno looked at Nazo. And Nazo looked back at Bruno.

"Will you get up?!" Nazo said in annoyance.

Bruno stood up, adjusted his clothes and cleared his throat.

"Let's go then..." Bruno said and headed for the temple.

Nazo annoyedly grunted and followed Bruno.

"I hope all the townsfolk are okay..." Bruno thought.

"Esco will take care of them later, now hurry up..." Nazo replied.

It was not long before they reached the temple.

"Now let's see, if that old geezer was right..." Nazo lowered himself to the bricks.

"Shut it, he's trying to help us." Bruno responded and also lowered down.

After a few layers of bricks, they created a small opening through which they could crawl inside. Bruno went in first

"Move your ass." Nazo pushed Bruno inside.

"Ahh!" Bruno yelled as he hit the floor inside.

Nazo went right after him. He helped him to stand up and together they continued down the hallway. But they ran into a problem, the hallway was made into multiple directions.

"Where is your INSTINCT leading you know?" Bruno poked Nazo.

"It's not INSTINCT." Nazo sharply replied.

"Straight..." He added and continued.

After a short walk they found Perros, Esco and Rosa.

"Perros! Esco!" They both shouted.

Nazo ran to where Perros was lying and listened to his chest. Bruno went to see Esco.

"He's still breathing..." Nazo was relieved.

"Esco too." Bruno responded.

When they were sure that Perros and Esco were safe, Nazo went to look for Rosa.

"Here she is..." Nazo thought for himself.

"Unconscious." He added.

Nazo put Perros on his back and took Esco in his arms. Bruno picked up Rosa and they headed back. Luckily, no traps or mechanisms were on their way back.

Until they got to where they came from.

"Put him down and crawl through the hole." Nazo ordered.

"Yeah... yeah..." Bruno slowly laid Rosa against a wall.

As Rosa reached the floor, something started to move.

"What's that sound?" Bruno looked through the hole.

The earth began to rumble. Small pieces fell from the ceiling and dust was everywhere.

"What's going on?" Bruno looked around.

As he turned around, in a distance he saw a giant boulder rolling towards him.

"Crap..." Nazo sped up.

"Hurry up!" He added, nudging Bruno as he was already making his way through the hole.

Nazo swiftly began to pass to Bruno Perros and Esco.

"Alright. Now her!" Bruno nodded his head towards Rose.

Nazo looked at her with a bit of uncertainty.

"I can't..." Nazo said in a low voice.

"What?" Bruno said uncomprehendingly.

"I CAN'T!" Nazo looked at Bruno seriously.

"Why? She's not like... dead." Bruno said questioningly.

"I can't touch... women... that I don't know..." Nazo said with humility.

Bruno blew a raspberry and burst out laughing.

"Ok... ok." Bruno said as he wiped his tears.

Bruno pushed Rosa through the opening. And the boulder was coming dangerously closer. As Bruno pulled Rosa out, Nazo quickly jumped through, almost crushed by the boulder.

Nazo stood up, brushed off the dust and looked at Bruno.

"Not... a word." Nazo said seriously.

"NEVER!" He added, picking up Perros and Esco again before returning to the saloon.

"If you say so..." Bruno chuckled, picked up Rosa and headed after him.

A few minutes later, Nazo and Bruno returned to the saloon.

When they walked in, they noticed that Koon had already prepared some bandages to treat Perros, Esco and Rosa.

"This will have to do it..." Koon looked at the bandages.

"Esco would definitely protest, but for now..." Bruno said.

"It should be plenty." Nazo added.

After a few hours, Perros woke up. Only Rosa was now asleep.

"Where am I?" Perros slowly asked.

He turned his head to one side and saw Nazo, Bruno and Esco who was already on his feet.

"I won right?" Perros asked.

"In a sense... yes..." Nazo said and looked behind Perros.

Perros turned to the other side and saw Rosa lying beside him.

"Aah!" Perros exclaimed in surprise.

"Argh!" And then in pain.

"You shouldn't move..."Esco said.

"So stay still!" He added, hitting Perros over the head.

"What is she doing here?" Perros asked.

"It turned out they are not our enemies." Nazo said.

"They?" Perros asked in confusion.

"Yes, "they" are not." Koon said.

Perros didn't notice him at first, because he was standing behind him.

"Nazo, who is this Hot Wheel user?" Perros asked seriously.

Koon grunted in irritation.

"I am Haider Koon." Koon said.

"WHAT!?" Perros exclaimed in surprise.

"And I'm here to train you..." He added.

"WHAT!?" Everyone shouted in surprise.

"We've been doing this for a while now. No one has been able to beat Rosa nor her techniques." Koon explained.

"Until today..." He added.

"And why?" Perros asked.

"Look at me..." Koon sharply responded.

"Do I look like I am worthy of being one of the Stars?" He added sorrowfully.

"Nope." Perros said with complete honesty.

"Thanks you..." Koon said in annoyance.

"So you want to train me to replace you as one of the Stars?" Perros asked.

"Yes---" Koon was cut off by Perros.

"Can't, I never planned to be one of the Stars..." Perros said.

"I'm aiming even higher." He added and grinned.

"And you can..." Koon said.

"The last person to use two elements was the previous Bandazai." He added and looked at Perros.

"Okay, okay, before you go on with your motivational speeches, I want to know something." Esco said.

"Yes, rabbit?" Koon responded.

"Rab-? *sigh* Do you have treatment for the people outside?" Esco asked angrily.

"They'll wake up..." Koon said confidently.

"Are you reta-" Esco was cut off by Nazo.

"Esco!" Nazo raised his voice.

"Are you kidding me?" Esco stepped closer to Koon.

"They're dead!" He added in outrage.

"Did you check them yourself?... Doctor?" Koon asked and rode over to the window.

"No, but I can see their blood from here, and they're still not moving." Esco also walked to the window, but climbed up on top of Koon to see out.

"It's an act." Koon whispered into Esco's ear.

"Blood? Fake. They're dead? Just given enough of anesthetic." He explained.

"So they are fine." Esco relieved.

"I would never hurt innocent people... Professionals have standards." Koon said.

"And why would I let people get killed in my town?" Koon said.

"Alright, alright... sorry..." Esco said.

"Where were we?" Koon asked as he returned to Perros.

"Training." Perros said

"Yeah... You can rest here for a few days until you feel better." Koon turned to the door.

"Then we'll head out..." He added and rolled out.

"Where?" Perros exclaimed.

"You'll see." Koon answered and disappeared.

When Koon left. Rosa woke up.

"Oh, and now you?" Perros said sarcastically.

"Where is this training place he'll take me?" He asked.

"A certain Island." Rosa said.

"Can we go with Perros?" Bruno asked.

"That's up to Koon to decide." Rosa said.
