Chapter 56 - Chapter 55: Scarlet

At the boundary of the great forest of Fiora. Inside the wilderness, rushing footsteps was could be heard.

Running from a pack of Forest wolves was a certain adventurer. Her bright silky red hair swayed as she jumped using the pile of boulders as her footing.

"Come here, puppies!"

She was wearing the dark blue adventurer's robe the guild issued as their uniform, along with black loose black short shorts, black thigh-high socks, and brown leather shoes incorporating with her mobility as she ran.

Even currently being chased by a pack of vicious monsters, her almond brown eyes were gleaming as she smiled.

She stood under a huge tree and looked up while narrowing her eyebrows. "You know, it's rude to watch on people like a creep, especially when you're doing it while hiding in a tree."

Her eyes directed at the person standing at the branch of the tree, wearing his wooden mask gazing at her using his mana perception. He was completely hidden in the leaves, but he finally showed his self while pointing his own using his finger.

"You can see me?"

The red-haired girl tilted her head. "Of course, idiot! If you didn't know, mana sensory is a thing. Where are you from? From a cave? But base on that unusual mask you are wearing, you definitely know what Mana sensory is."

The 7 black-furred 2 feet tall Forest wolves arrived and growled as they reached their location.

"Nevermind, just stay there and let me just deal with this for a second."

The red-haired girl walked towards the pack of the wolves, she was not holding any weapon and it was more than enough reason for the Forest wolves to confidently attack her.

The 7 Forest wolves jumped towards her but they could not even reach her due to the pale yellow light circle surrounding her. The red-haired girl raised her right hand and a pale yellow great sword-shaped light emerged in her hand and forcefully swung it using both of her hands to easily kill the Forest wolves.

One managed to jump out and flee.

However, the huge sword that the red-haired girl holding instantly disappeared and she positioned her hand as if she was using a bow. Without a delay, a bow-shaped light emerged and launched an arrow towards the fleeing wolf and instantly killed it with an arrow in its head.

The red-haired girl sighed as the bow he was holding slowly disappeared.

"If you can kill them, why run from them?" Roshan asked as he jumped down from the tree.

"I'm luring them out, Genius."

"I see."

"What's up with that mask? Anyway, I'm going to get the carriage, mind guarding my loots for me?"

Roshan shook her head. "I have to go."

The red-haired girl leaned both of her hands on her waist. "Where are you planning to go? Do you have a carriage?"

"To the capital and no, I don't need it."

The red-haired girl nodded. "Then it settled, I'll let you ride with me to the capital. Wait for me here." She started to walk away.

"I don't remember agreeing."

The red-haired girl just waved her hand and walked away.

Roshan watched her as she walked towards the carriage she was talking about.

***

The red-haired girl came back with the carriage and the coachman with her. After putting all the corpses of the Forest wolves inside the carriage they started the journey towards the capital.

Roshan gazed at the carriage traveling with them on the highway while sitting at the back part of the carriage. Different kinds of carriages were could be seen. There were some simple carriages just like they were riding on that only has brown tarpaulin covering the side and top of the wagon. While some were covered with sophisticated carved woods, glasses, and customized elegant doors.

"Are you new from here?"

Roshan turned his face on her and nodded.

"I see, that's why."

"What do you mean by that's why?"

"Hmm, nothing. I'm Malevie Edwige, but you can call me, Levy. What's your name?"

For a few seconds, Roshan stared at her before releasing a huge sigh. "Roshan Lightborne."

Levy stared at her with a subtle smile on her face. "Roshy?"

"Roshan."

Levy nodded. "So where are you from, Roshy?"

"Roshan."

The carriage bump into a stone and some of the Forest wolves moved toward them, Levy stood up to fix them.

"The magic you used earlier. What kind of magic was that? You created a weapon out of thin air."

Levy turned to him. "That? It's my light magic."

"That was light magic? I must say, your light magic is a little bit..."

"Strange?" Levy sat back in front of him.

"I'm about to say... unique."

"I'm getting a lot of that comment every time I use my Light magic, most of them expecting it to be an explosion of blinding light and not a bunch of weapons. but I like it the way it is."

"I see."

"Elemental magic will take its shape depending on the user's will and imagination. It means whatever your magic is, that's who you are. I'm glad it turned out like that."

"Okay, that's over-explanation of a simple question, but sure."

Levy looked outside. "Are you expecting a job once you reached the capital, Roshy?"

"No, and please don't call me that."

"Then why not be an adventurer? The income is good, finding a job inside the capital is not as easy as you think, especially when you are new."

"Why something is telling me you're telling that in every jobless person you've met?"

"I'm not, it's just a suggestion."

"I'll think about it, I mean, it's not a bad idea. I need a good source of income while I'm here and so I could get a grasp of this place while I'm on it."

Levy clapped out of excitement. "Good, good. You won't regret it."

"I already did."

After some time, they remained silent as they watched the road outside.

"You are quite knowledgeable, can I ask you a thing?"

"What is it?" Levy turned her gaze on him.

"Do you know who is the God of War?"

Levy furrowed her eyebrows. "And I thought you're about to ask me a very hard question, but I'm quite surprised that you didn't know about such common knowledge. The God of war is Horion, the leader of the 7 Gods of Terra."

Roshan slowly nodded and turned his gaze back outside. "Now, I already know your name. What now?"

"Why you asked, Roshy?"

"Nothing."
