The night arrived at the great forest of Fiora. At the small village of Amaryllis, where the villagers were currently celebrating, the festive was not much, but what made the celebration lively was the music and the people dancing with it in the middle of the crowd.
The celebration was happening in the open space at the very center of the village. Where the moon was completely visible and watching over them with the beautiful starry night sky.
The loud laugh of the people was resounding around them, the soothing music was being played by the string guitar and tambourine and it was more than enough to live up the celebration.
Sitting at the corner, Roshan was just watching on them while munching the chicken leg he was holding. "I really missed eating food." He was leaning on his chair while crossing his legs.
Ellion sat next to him. "All the women rescued from the base of the goblins are already sleeping inside the house. Some of them may end up scarred, but I'm confident, time will heal them."
Roshan nodded. "I see."
"They are very thankful that you saved them, the ones who are awake want to meet you, but I insisted for them to take their rest."
"But I didn't save them. You did."
Ellion nodded and smiled. "We cannot express our deepest gratitude towards you for saving our little village."
"Big Brother Roshan!" Mito rushed towards them following him was Kali.
"Mito, do not run."
Mito sat beside him. "I want to see how you defeated those monsters!" The 10-year-old Mito could not hide his excitement.
Half of Roshan's lips rose. "Too bad, you didn't, besides, you are not allowed to go there, it's a very dangerous place."
Kali grabbed a chair and sat with them. "Roshan, the Fire magic you used inside the cave earlier. That was the most powerful fire magic that I have ever seen, you completely burned down the entire hordes of the goblins. I am no mage, but I am aware that was not something an average adventurer can do." Kali leaned towards him and whispered his question. "Are you by chance... a class A or even higher adventurer?"
Roshan shook his head. "I'm afraid, I'm not."
"I would never believe that. But if you want to keep it as your secret, I will never dig more."
"Kali, everyone has something that they don't want to casually talk about on. Maybe, Roshan preferred to keep about it as his secret." Ellion said to his son.
Roshan did not answer and pointed his eyes towards the dancing villagers. His eyes hung around the wooden mask the villagers waving while dancing.
"The wooden mask, are you the one who made it?" He stared at Kali but Kali pointed his finger at his father.
"Does one of the masks I made piqued your interest? It is just plain wood carve, but if you want, I can give you some."
"Can I have one?"
Ellion smiled and nodded at him.
"Then I'll take your kind offer, I want one without holes in it, or maybe if you could cut the mouth part so the only part of my face that will be revealed is my mouth."
"I can do that, however, it would be a strange mask to use. Are you sure?"
"Yes." Roshan immediately responded.
Ellion slowly nodded as his forehead furrowed. "I see, if you say so. I have some that do not have holes in them yet, all I need to do is to cut out the chin of the mask."
"Thanks," Roshan said as he chewed the chicken leg in his hand.
As the night went deeper, the people celebrating with them slowly reduced. until the new morning arrived, the morning sun greeted the village for a new beginning.
At the entrance of the village, the villagers were currently gathering to say their goodbyes to their village's savior.
"This is your reward, Roshan. 5,000 Sierra." Ellion handed over the coin pouch he was holding to Roshan. "Count it first."
Roshan opened the string lock of the pouch and grabbed the coins inside. What he got were 5 pieces of blue coins with 1,000 engraved in each, the indication of their value. "Thank you very much."
"Take care, Roshan!" The villagers along with Mito and Kali waved their hands at him.
Roshan nodded. "I will."
"Lastly, this is the mask that you want, I have easily done it because all I need to do was to cut the chin of the mask," Ellion revealed the wooden mask he was holding in his back and gave it to Roshan.
After receiving the mask, he gazed upon it with a smile on his face. He rubbed his finger to the smooth wooden mask. Just like he requested, the mask had no hole in it.
He put the mask on, covering his entire face except for his mouth and chin because the chin of the mask was cut. His emotionless eyes were no longer could be seen, as if he intentionally hid them.
"I like it."
"I see, you did actually wear it. Of course," Ellion said as his eyebrows twitched.
"I have to go, it is a long journey to the capital."
"Take care, big brother, Roshan!" Mito waved his hand with a big smile on his face.
Roshan nodded and jumped in the direction of the capital.
His journey continued and after a few days of jumping his way through the forest. He was now on the edge of the great forest of Fiora.
His eyes wandered around the last part of the forest as he hung on top of a tall tree. The concrete highway of the Ashendar kingdom was visible in his location so the silhouette of the capital from afar.
"We're almost there."
His attention was diverted when he sense someone running directly beneath him.
"Come here, puppies!" The voice was coming from a woman.
Chasing towards her was a pack of Forest wolves.
