Chapter 19 - Chapter 18: Guide Lady

Days after the fated battle between the Small nature spirit and the fearsome Gaia centipede ended. The cave system considerably changed.

After taking his victory, the Small lesser nature spirit went on a relentless killing spree, and eliminated every inhabitant of the cave system, with the exception of the Small lesser nature spirits that popping out throughout the vicinity of the cave system.

He never stopped, not until the entire cave system became an empty area.

The once lively cave system that was full of life was now an empty place with nothing but numerous groups of Small lesser nature's spirit born from the mana generated by the corpses of the monsters that once inhabited the place.

A total annihilation.

At one of the edges of the cave system, where the last surviving colony of Cave bats was gathering. All of their eyes darted to the small ball of light floating towards them.

They watched him until he arrived right under them.

"Hello gentlemen and ladies of course, how's your day? Isn't it a little bit cold in here? I hope you don't mind if I heat this place up a little."

He activated his Fire magic and blasted a flamethrower towards the Cave bats hanging in the ceiling.

Without a chance to react, the Cave bats instantly got caught in fire, their agonizing cries resonated around the dead silent cave system.

One after another they fell to the ground while the fire was completely devouring them.

[Fire magic.]

[A skill that grants the ability to invoke and manipulate Fire magic to a moderate extent.]

"No level? I have been grinding for the whole ten days and I didn't receive a single level!"

He activated his Wind magic to search for some monsters to hunt, but the entire place was already empty. After hours of wandering around, he finally stopped and just hovered around the cave system.

"This place is not as big as I thought. How I wish I could have a satisfying life just like my brothers and sisters right there."

He turned his gaze to the floating Small lesser nature spirits he was passing through while aimlessly traveling in a slow rhythm.

"Look at how happy they are, living a life without any purpose is bliss, isn't it? All you need to do is to hover around while waiting for your impending demise."

He slightly accelerated his movement.

"The feeling of knowing that finally, No more creepy giant centipede following me around. I felt safer more than ever. But in return, I'm already out of things to do!"

"By the way, Guide lady. I saw some paths leading to the higher part of this place, how many floors do I need to get through to reach the exit, and what floor I'm currently on?"

[Error.]

[Cannot analyze.]

"For some reason I expected you to say that."

He stopped moving when an epiphany struck his head.

"You know, now that I think about it, something is odd with your voice. You have an emotionless monotone way of speaking, but why did your creator build you with that kind of voice? Every time I heard your voice, all I can imagine is a twin-tailed teenage girl wearing a school uniform who will call me stupid every time I made her blushed. That's what your voice sounds like. Do you get me? Guide lady?"

"Oy, answer me! I'm talking to you!"

[I cannot comprehend what was your question mean.]

"Did he create you with inspiration in mind? Now that I realized it, you really are sound like a highschool girl. Is that some kind of your creator's hidden fetish? Maybe I should ask him once we meet again. What do you think?"

[I cannot comprehend what was your question mean.]

"That's okay, you don't need to. Now that I remembered it, isn't there's still one monster left in this place? Let's go check it out before advancing to higher parts of this cave system. Am I right, Guide lady?"

"Right?"

[Yes.]

"Hmmm."

"Isn't calling you Guide lady is a little bit uncomfortable? Would you mind if I give you a nickname instead because Traveler's Guide or Guide lady is too long to pronounce, besides the fact that you are indeed far from being a good guide, and also, your voice doesn't sound ladylike at all. What do you think?"

For a few seconds, the entire place was covered in silence.

"Yep, I can confirm, I'm beyond help. Being alone in the middle of an underground cave system can bring out the crazy in you, especially when your only companion is a freaking talking skill! Now answer me, lady!"

[Affirmative.]

"Good, good. I'm not good with names, how about, Gailee? Brilliant, right? All I did was put the words Guide lady together and you have it. From now on I'm going to call you Gailee. Get it?"

[Affirmative.]

His body trembled. "I need to get out of this place as soon as possible and make some friends before I ended up naming every creature in this cursed place because of boredom."

He used his wind magic and accelerated himself. After few minutes of traveling through the small holes inside the walls of the cave system, he came out to the hole and the blue-green lights all over the walls greeted him.

He peeked his head to the hole and check the underground river. The river was empty. Not even a single Leather and Iron frog were could be found.

"So, where's that Mithril skinned frog?"

[Error.]

[No proper vision to analyze.]

"Maybe if I bombarded it enough, It will come out eventually."

He flew towards the river.

"Let's try and see what's gonna happen."
