"Hey system, don't you have any beginner items?" Yu asked. His feet were soaking in the nice warm water. His blond hair floating in the tub. It was the day before the tournament. He had used alot of ways to try and get better at swordsmanship.
Though, he was no genius so he made mediocre progress. At this point, he was just hoping some unfortunate things happen to all of the scary opponents.
"Oh yeah, we do." The cat system mewed.
"...Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Yu didn't actually think that there was something. He only asked since he was bored.
"I thought you had no use for it since you haven't asked until now..." the cat hung its head.
Yu sighed. He shouldn't argue with this ditzy system.
"Just...what do I get for free?"
"You get beginner's lucky bag, beginner's random skill spin, and beginner's lucky totem."
"Uhhhh what does the totem do?" He had already gotten a gist of the first and second items.
"Beginner's lucky totem: A blessed totem from the Main System, gives 30 mins of +150 luck effect to user." The system showed a panel to Yu.
"...What does luck even do?" Yu believed in streamer luck and the like, but not like actual luck itself if you get what he means.
"Say you have 10 luck, you will find a nickel on the ground. If you use the totem, then there's a chance you could find a 100 dollar bill on the ground. Or in the tournament, you could have multiple lucky strikes on your opponent . Then a bird comes a poops on your opponent's eyes."
"Ayo? That's pretty good!" Yu wasn't in a bad mood anymore.
The kitten rubbed it's cute nose. "Well of course! It was made from the Main system herself!"
Yu wondered if he could ever meet the Main system one day...
"Can I use the beginner's random skill spin?" He asked.
"Sure thing! Beginner's Random Skill Spin Consumed: ....Ding! Congrats, you have earned the skill...Substitute!" The system dinged.
"Information?"
"Substitute: Able to make a small doll with user's appearance. By shouting, "Substitute!" the doll will replace your place and you will get teleported to a short distance away. WARNING: Only able to make 2 dolls per day, anymore and will greatly endanger host's life."
"This is pretty useful for the tournament!" Yu grinned. This could be useful if someone decided to pull and unknown trap card on him. Although he was pretty sure he couldn't win, he would try his best and hope it counts.
"Open Beginner's lucky bag."
"Beginner's lucky bag consumed! ....Ding! Congrats you have earned Kotar's bracelet!" The system knew that Yu would ask for information, so he already put the information up.
"Kotar's bracelet: The Queen of an ancient civilization, known for her beauty and wits. Her personal bracelet is said to have gained some magical powers, so many aimed for it. Sadly, it got lost somewhere when Kotar died. Has the power to charm enemies for 2 seconds. Only able to use 5 times before being breaking. +15 charisma, 20+ luck."
"Huh, that's also pretty good. Sadly it can only be used for 5 times." Yu shrugged. He got out of the bath and put some clothes. He had to be ready for the big day tomorrow.

Athel's blue eyes were looking at his sword. He must win tomorrow...or else Resui would get the better of him again. His mind wondered off to Resui's previous words.
---
"Sister! You must be joking?! Surely you aren't actually marrying this man?!!!" Resui shouted as he slammed his fist on the table.
"Hush! What's wrong with it? Athel loves me, and I love him!" Anna was arguing back.
"He's only using you for power, he doesn't actually love you!" Hearing those words made Athel almost snap.
"That's enough! Both of you, go back to your rooms." The queen snapped at both of them, making them going back to their rooms. Leaving Athel alone with her.
"...Please don't mind Resui, his sister always doted on him...making him a tad bit obsessed with her...He's a good child, though a bit much." Alina sighed.
"It's fine, I just need him to warm up to me a little..." Athel smiled.
...
"Aurgh!" Athel was shoved to the ground by Resui. He looked at him in disgust. Athel was open his mouth, but Resui spoke first.
"Save it. I don't accept you, and you're disgusting family. So stop trying to get all buddy buddy with me." Resui kneeled down and grabbed his shirt.
"Hah, don't you have some dignity? Threatening your sister's future husband is certainly benefiting of the Crown Prince...." Athel scoffed.
"Why you!-" Resui was about to yell again, but he stopped and just shoved him again. "I will NEVER accept you as my brother in law."He spat.
---
Athel's eyes returned to normal. He still remembered the time Resui was tied with his hands behind his back, glaring in embarrassment. The more Athel thought about it, he realized he likes seeing the stuck up Resui so submissive like that.
His usual arrogant face was replaced with a blushful trance with dazed eyes. The tight rude lips were soft and plump, as if it were asking for someone to kiss him.
Athel jolted. What was he thinking?! That bastard prince probably did something to him!! After all, he's a sneaky fox! He must have casted something on me... He continued training with doubts

Maxilrin called forth his servant.
"What has Resui been doing?" He sipped his red wine, enjoying the bitter flavor it held.
"I haven't been able to watch Resui that closely due to his guards, but from what i've observed..." The servant paused nervously.
"Speak." Maxilrim narrowed his eyes.
"He seems to be focused on the tournament coming up. He also acts nicer to people instead of acting stuck up." The servant bowed his head.
"Hm, what about his friend...from the Asate Kingdom?" He frowned when he thought of that annoying pest always circling around him.
"The same as always, though there were some rumors of him being attracted to Resui."
"Tch, keep monitoring them for now." Maxilrim stopped drinking the wine and grabbed a book. He began reading until he fell asleep.
