The soft mattress beneath him made him think that everything that had just happened was nothing more than a dream, however the smell of the infirmary that he had been exposed to many times during his stay at the academy confirmed that everything that had happened was reality and not a fantasy. His breathing was slow and his senses were still with him. For no particular reason, he sat up, nearly violently before looking around as he made several people in the infirmary jump, "What happened?" He asked while still looking lost. A hand placed itself on his and he turned to see Kelly standing next to the bed.
"Hello Uri."
"Hello Kelly," He replied, still looking lost.
"You passed out after the mages brought you back to Mage Haven from who knows where," Her voice was calm and made him feel less lost, "You really worried me, you know?"
"Sorry, I didn't have much of a choice," Uri replied, "I would've told you if I could."
"I know, but what happened?"
"My family helped me fight the Hand of Reality."
"Your family?" Kelly looked confused, "Aren't they dead?"
"Yeah, they are," Kelly giggled and sat back down, "What is funny about that?"
"Not that, I think you need some real rest," She kissed his hand, "Even heroes need rest every now and then, maybe some peace in the planar system could do you well."
"It wouldn't hurt at least," The headmaster commented as he stood in the infirmary, "I am glad to see that you are awake, Uri, how are you feeling?"
"Weird."
"Can you feel your legs still?" Uri moved his limbs and the headmaster nodded, "You used it again," The young man nodded once more, "You were in control this time."
"Yes, I was and I don't feel anything bad right now," The headmaster nodded, "What did you want from me?"
"We need to talk."
"Alright, when?"
"When you are cleared by the nurses and feel like you are ready to recount everything that happened."
"Another one of those?"
"Yes and no, this one is much more serious," Uri nodded, understanding that breaching the plane of Krono-Pontis would cause him such issues with it being a supposedly secret and protected plane.
He sat in the headmaster's office, "I am still shocked that each and every finger of the Hand of Reality are former students of our academy," Headmaster Solven sighed. On his desk he had a notebook, "I would like to talk about what happened three days ago," Uri nodded, "This is more serious than the last time we had a discussion of this type."
"Krono-Pontis was something that I was shown the direction to by the Hand of Reality themselves," He stated, "I know of it thanks to them and that's all about Krono-Pontis, it was them who lead me to using the portal spell and acquiring that information."
"Well, that was simple, now, the actual events of that day," Uri's mind returned to the events. Describing them was simple as they were still very vivid in his mind, more so than the events had been in his first year. The headmaster took detailed notes about what he said and asked questions to dig for more details.
It would be the only thing held against him, entering Krono-Pontis. The multiple deaths he caused seemed to have been simply brushed under the rug, "Waut, what punishment am I facing?" Uri asked confused, "If murder doesn't get me something, why would entering Krono-Pontis get me something?"
"That is the way things are, I will discuss with the heads of school for this punishment," Uri nodded and sighed, "I know, it was necessary to break the rules to protect yourself and others."
"I am not sighing about that."
"What are you sighing about?"
"Gilvern and Jennifer were judged today," The headmaster nodded, "It has been a rather large news story, but I hate the way it ended."
"Hanging."
"They were completely harmless after what I did to them."
"What did you do exactly? You state that you removed their magic."
"Using my Dominator's magic and my Oik magic to destroy their magic without killing them," The headmaster nodded, "I didn't expect that type of judgement, well I did, but I didn't want it to be so."
"I understand."
"My family was killed for who they were, these people were cruel, sure, but there are better judgements than simply killing them," Uri sighed again, "I could've done it myself but I didn't, I expected some more restraint from the representatives of the planes and the judges."
"The planar system is not perfect."
"I couldn't agree more, headmaster," The life mage left the headmaster's tower and felt the warm sunshine against his skin. Maybe at one point he would be able to have more than a year without turmoil or problems being thrown at him.
"What are you looking at?" He smiled before turning his head towards Kelly, "How did it go?"
"Punishment, probably more hours of academy service."
"Again? You really need to stop breaking the rules," She said jokingly.
"I'll stop breaking the rules when there stops being reasons to," Uri rolled his eyes, "I'll be done with that way of thinking when the planes are really at peace."
"Hopefully that is sooner than later," She smiled, "On a side note, the mage games are happening soon."
"I finally get to play in one of them."
"It'll be great," Uri smiled as the two of them walked. Life had changed dramatically since he had arrived in the academy and it was only going to keep changing. But this wasn't change that bothered the Oik mage, it was quite the contrary, it was something Uri appreciated.
