"Why are we taking my car and not yours, again?" Lily fumbled for her car keys.
"Alas is driving the Nova. He's going on a date with your best friend."
"Oh? So that's the reason why I don't see her anywhere all of a sudden. Sneaky best friend."
"As for the black coupe, I left it at the Bosworths' garage. Frankie's dad is a grease monkey, you know. So no car for me today." Ray let himself in the car. "Damn, this is awkward. I barely fit inside."
"No problem, big guy. The roof is convertible. See?" Lily was proud to show the convertible top. She spent a considerable amount on it for her eighteenth birthday. Her savings suffered as a result. "Comfortable now?"
Ray sat in the passenger seat, getting used to the feel of a smaller vehicle. "Yep."
"Or you can sit at the back. You're all long legs. That's why."
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me," said Ray with a wink.
