Mr. Klein sat behind his desk with a dark expression as he looked at Claire who timidly stood before him. She has already removed her disguise and was before her dad wondering why he was angry.
"Sit." He said coldly which of course Claire immediately obeyed. "What is your aim in this life?" He went straight to the point taking Claire by surprise.
"... Uhm... I... I..." Claire stammered.
"No need to tell me anything because I know you have no aim in your miserable life. All you do all day is skipping class and lazing around like a lazy drone!"
"Dad, I-"
"Shut up! You don't talk when I talk." Mr. Klein warned. "I always give you the best of everything. I try not to interfere in your life since you seek privacy. Now tell me, when was the last time you reported for chemistry class?... Answer me!"
"I-I... The..."
"You don't even recall it. Ever since you blew up the lab, you've never bothered about attending chemistry class." Mr. Klein revealed and Claire was really shocked because she thought she made a deal with Mr. Hollingsworth not to tell her dad.
"What. You're shocked?" Mr. Klein asked arching a brow.
"You've been playing around in school and not bothering about your studies. You've been absent from class for three days without any valid reason. Have a look at the results of the previous exams you took." Mr. Klein said as he slammed a white paper on the table.
"D minus in almost all the subjects. Do you want to have a better future with this? Well since you don't know what to do with your life, and all you know to do is picking up fight and flirting with random boys, I'll help you. I'll marry you into a wealthy and influential family. After all I'll get some profit from it than watching you fool around with your life." Mr. Klein decided.
"No dad. Please don't do this. I don't want to get married yet." Claire cried as she rubbed her hands together. "I promise to be a good kid. I promise to attend class all the time and study well." Claire promised as tears streamed down on her face.
Mr. Klein sighed as he helplessly looked at his daughter. "Okay. I'm given you another chance. I want to see a huge improvement in your studies at the end of the semester or else, forget about pleading to me. I won't bat an eye on getting you married." Mr. Klein warned in a firm tone.
"Thank you dad. Thank you so much." Claire wiped her tears and walked over to him, giving him a bear hug. He patted her arm and she let go standing upright.
"Now let's go. I'm going home." Mr. Klein announced.
"Now?" Claire asked quite surprised because her dad was leaving work early.
"Why?" He asked as he stood up.
"Well it's quite rare for you to leave work so early."
"Of course I need to leave early. I'm missing my wife already."
"Eeww, showing off to we singletons." Claire rolled her eyes.
"Come on let's go. I'll drop you off." He dragged Claire towards the sitting area where Thane sat and took her disguise and put it on for her.
After, he dragged her out with Thane trailing behind them with Claire's backpack over his shoulder. They got to the reception area where a number of employees were roaming. When they saw their big boss holding the hand of the disguised person, their confusion only rose to a new level and their questions were countless.
'Who is that?'
'Why is the boss holding the hand?'
Some of the employees who stood in groups started to make deductions together. Then they all got to one idea.
"Could she be the boss' hidden daughter?"
Claire sat in her dad's car whilst Thane also drove behind them. She talked about funny matters with her handsome father until they were already at her school. Claire kissed his cheek before getting down and waving at him as she watched the two cars leave.
She sucked in a deep breath and went into the building going straight to her room. Now she had made up her mind to be a serious student though she couldn't throw away her actual attitude.
The next day, she woke up early in the morning and did her routine preparing to go to class. She packed her essential textbooks into her backpack as well as other learning materials and her snack.
Since it was Friday, she wore the school tracksuit which was the dress code for Friday. It was black and white. She took her sneakers and wore them then tied her hair into two cute buns allowing some strands to fall on the sides of her face.
She picked up her back pack and left for class. When she reached, she noticed it wasn't time for classes so she dropped her bag on her chair and left to look for Tracy.
Immediately she left, Arthur also arrived in class. When he saw the familiar backpack on the seat which has been vacant ever since he came, his heart palpitated since he could guess who it was for. A smile automatically appeared on his face as he dashed out.
Claire who has been roaming with the aim of reaching Tracy was stopped.
"Hey, Claire!" Gwen called from behind. Claire turned around just to see her sweet hater with her two blind followers, Bianca and Cherry. Claire arched a brow as she glanced at the trio.
"May I help you Miss Shenton?" Claire asked nonchalantly.
"Look at her acting all high." Bianca sneered.
"So after being absent for three days, you decide to come back huh?" Gwen asked with disdain.
"Is it wrong for me to report to class. Actually, does your family own this school?" Claire asked sarcastically.
"It seems our so called goddess has been refined within these three days. I wonder what she was doing." Gwen said as she tapped her chin as if in a deep thought.
"You want to know what I have been doing for the past three days? I'll gladly tell you... Well I'll laze in bed in morning then in the afternoon after class, Duncan..." Claire trailed off.
"Duncan what?" Gwen asked annoyingly.
"Hey chill. I'm just trying to find the right words to explain... Well Duncan will give me company throughout the afternoon till probably... night." Claire said with a mocking smile on her lips. Gwen's face twitched as she was boiling with anger.
"You slut!"
She lounged towards Claire but Claire was quick to dodge to the left and she grabbed Gwen's collar pulling her back and throwing her into the arms of her blind followers. At this time, there were some students who were also watching. They cheered when they saw Claire's skills.
"Wow, I think Ji-Hoon's training has started paying off. Thank you Master." Claire said in amazement as she kissed her arm muscle. She looked at Gwen who was quite terrified.
"Don't mess with Claire Klein again, or else you'll experience something worse than this." She warned then turned to leave.
Gwen who wasn't ready to accept defeat yet, steadied herself and lounge at Claire from the back. This time she was successful in her attack. She pushed Claire very hard causing her to fall on all four. Everyone was surprised as they watched the two girls; one being their goddess and the other, their proud arrogant president
"This is what b*tches always receive." Gwen mocked as she watched Claire grimace in pain.
She turned to leave with her friends but was met with a pair of cold sea blue eyes. Before she could do anything, she was also pushed with much force making her fall on her back and hitting her head on the floor. Her face contorted as she could feel the stinging pain behind her head.
Claire who still sat on the ground in pain saw Gwen also falling even harder than her. She could even hear the sound when her head hit the ground. Claire upon noticing this looked up just to see the familiar face looking down at her.
"Arthur." She called in low voice but it was enough for those around to hear.
She was very surprised to see him in her school at this early hour. And that wasn't the only surprising thing. What shocked her the most was that Arthur was wearing their uniform.
Arthur bent down and helped Claire up but she yelped in pain.
"You can't stand?" Arthur asked in a soft voice and Claire nodded.
He gathered her up in his arms carrying her in princess style and left. Everyone around gasped as they were confused. They all knew Claire and Duncan were together so who was this new party?
Bianca and Cherry ran to Gwen when they heard her moan in pain. They helped her up but she shrugged them off as she glared at the place Arthur disappeared with Claire in his arms.
