Chereads / Burn Me (Bakugo x Reader) / Chapter 69 - Chapter Sixty Eight

Chapter 69 - Chapter Sixty Eight

Mina and you were late to your next class, after getting an ear full from Midnight you two took your seats. You and Mina remained in the bathroom, forgetting time as you told Mina everything that happened between you and Bakugo.

It did make you feel lighter having someone to talk to about your emotions that wasn't a therapist trying to analyze every inch of your feelings. You swallowed the lump in your throat as you passed Bakugo, his eyes lazily glanced over to you as you past him. You didn't look at him as you took your seat.

The rest of the school day blurred by, you lost inside your head as you thought about seeing Shadow Jack again and your one-sided feelings towards Bakugo.

"I'll catch up with you!" Mina waved, seeing you waiting for her to get up and collected her things.

"Huh-?"

"I'll catch up with you!" Mina waved again. You frowned not understanding but turned leaving the room anyway. You refused to look over at Bakugo who was still packing up his things for the day.

After placing everything in your locker, you mapped out the things you had to do today. You needed to head to the dorms, grab everything you needed for the extended weekend. You were glad to be going home to All Might's, you missed him and wanted to spend time with him.

You sighed, stopping in your place realizing you left your math textbook in your locker. The school would be closed and locked, you needed it, it was your weakest subject and needed to study. With a groan you turned around heading back to your locker.

On your way you thought about what you were going to do tonight, all the students had until eight to leave the dorms before the teachers did their rounds and locked everything up. Mina and you planned on having a snack at the small café you two found before parting ways to go home.

Your mouth watered knowing all the baked goods just waiting for you—your thoughts slammed to a stop as a large hand slammed your locker shut in front of you. You turned your head, your heart already running for cover seeing Bakugo glaring down at you, his scarlet eyes glowing with rage.

"Why the fuck are you going around telling people I think your ugly and I hate you!?" Bakugo yelled, you looked around glad to see the hallway was empty.

"Uh-I-What?" You stuttered out.

"Don't play fucking stupid!" Bakugo snapped, "You don't do it very well."

"Uh..." You were going to murder Mina when you got your hands on her. "...I don't know what you're talking about." You said, reaching upward to unlocked your locker again but Bakugo blocked you.

"Answer the fucking question!" Bakugo snapped,

"Because that is what you said." You replied, "And I didn't go around telling people, I told one person." Who you were going to kill when you found her.

"Why do you even care what I say!?" Bakugo pushed, "You like me or some shit?"

You froze in place, his words like sharp knifes in your gut.

"Uh--wh—what?" You didn't have the skills needed to process this situation.

"You wanna go on a fucking date with me-?" Bakugo leaned closer, "-is that it?"

You struggled to form words but your brain was too busy flat lining to work.

"I-I uh..." Was all that would come out of your mouth, your body felt hot.

"I'm picking you up on Saturday." Bakugo instructed.

"Huh?" You were dumbfounded.

"Come on." He said, wrapping an arm around your shoulders, "The dorms are closing soon."

Unknowingly to the two of you, you had a pair of watchful eyes observing.

----

"Mina!" You snapped, walking into your dorm room. Light music was playing as she packed a bag to go home.

"Oh hey (y/n)!" Mina waved.

"Don't fucking 'hey' me!" You growled.

"How did it go?" Mina sheepishly grinned.

"I am going to kill you." You announced.

"What?" Mina laughed, "Come on!"

"You fucking talked to B about me!"

"Aw! You're calling him by his nickname again!"

"Come here-" You walked towards her,

"(y-y/n)!" Mina nervously laughed backing away from you, "I only did it for you!"

"Why did you go behind my back and talk to him!?"

"Because I knew you wouldn't!"

"You shouldn't have done that!"

"Why?" Mina wondered, "How did the talk go?"

"You knew he was coming to find me?"

"Well duh." Mina rolled her eyes,

"Mina!"

"Ok-" She held her hands up, "-ok. I am sorry I went behind your back and talked to Bakugo, but neither of you really have the social skills needed to fix this."

"What did you say to him?"

"What I said doesn't matter." Mina waved, "The only thing that does is what he said! So what did he say!?"

"I'm not telling you." You stubbornly crossed your arms.

"Oh, come on!" Mina whined, "I did all this for you! You have to tell me how it went!"

"No, I don't."

"Come on! Please!" Mina cried, "I swear I had your best interested at heart!"

You sighed.

"He...asked me on a date-"

"Ah!" Mina squealed, "You're going on a date!?"

"I guess..."

"When!?"

"Saturday."

"Tomorrow!? That's not enough time to prepare!"

"Prepare for what?"

"Come on." Mina gripped your hand. "We need to finish packing so we can go shopping!"

"Shopping?"

"What are you going to wear?" Mina tested.

"Um...shorts and-"

"Wrong!" Mina sang, "Come on!"

Mina dragged you into your dorm, forced you to pack and within a half hour you two were ready to leave. Mina dragged you by your arm through the common area.

"Hey-" Kirishima smiled seeing you. "-wait-!" He called noticing how Mina was dragging you out of the dorm. "-where are you guys going!?"

"We gotta go!" Mina waved, "See you guys' next week!"

"But-!" Kaminari called only to be ignored.

You glanced over your shoulder, Bakugo sat on the couch, he was looking up from his phone a smirk resting on his face as he watched Mina drag you from the dorms.

Mina and you spent hours going store to store looking for the right outfit. You learned Mina was picky when it came to clothes shopping.

"How about this?" You asked walking out of the dressing room in a sun dress and flats.

"Wow." Mina breathed, the color of the dress complimenting your skin tone and flattered your body. "You look beautiful (y/n)!"

"You really think so?" You wondered looking into the large mirror.

"Of course!"

"I don't look like myself." You muttered.

"Is that a bad thing?" Mina questioned.

"Don't know." You shrugged,

"Do you like the dress?"

"I think so."

"You think?" Mina giggled.

"I never got the chance to wear things like this." You ran your fingers over the soft material. Mina frowned; tears pressed against her eyes as she watched you try to get use to the new look. Mina quickly cleared her throat, jumping to her feet.

"I think that is the one! How about we go to that café and get some well-deserved treats!?"

"Really?" You jumped at the call of food.

"Yes." Mina smiled, trying to hide her sadness as you walked back into the dressing room to change. Sometimes she forgets the childhood you had, that you were still so new trying to get use to the feeling of this big new world around you.

----

Mina and you parted ways after the sun fell from the sky. You were tired as you walked into All Might's house. The smell of dinner lingered in the air as you kicked off your shoes and placed your shopping bags down.

"There you are." All Might said walking into the room.

"Hey!" You brightly smiled, being wrapped into a hug.

"Where have you been?"

"I was with Mina." You answered, "She took me shopping." You pointed to the many bags.

"I can see that." All Might chuckled. "Well, we have been waiting for you."

"We?"

"Yes, um...my friend that I have been spending time with?"

"Oh yeah."

"Well, she is here-"

"She?" You smirked,

"Yes." All Might cleared his throat. "I thought it would be nice if you to meet."

"And this is just a friend?" You asked as you followed him into the dining room.

"Well y-yes." All Might blushed.

You walked into the dining room seeing a woman standing from the table. Instantly you smugly grinned.

"(y/n) is this Inko." All Might gestured.

"(y/n)?" Inko blinked,

"Hey-" You struggled to hold back the laugh. "-long time no see."

"You-You two know each other?" All Might questioned.

"Yeah." Inko nodded, "She is my son's friend, she comes over some times."

"Lookin' good." You pointed how Inko has tried to take better care of herself by eating better and exercising with her son.

"Thank you!" Inko blushed.

"Who are you hanging around that I don't know!?" All Might demanded, he thought he knew all your friends.

"No, you know them all." You smirked taking a seat. "You haven't met her son?"

"He is on his way here." Inko explained, "We wanted everyone to meet and get to know each other."

"And you two haven't talked about your kids? Not even their names?"

"We...wanted to get to know each other first before we...I-I read in a popular book how it was important to get to know one another before we mixed in the kids-!" Inko blushed.

"No-No-" You waved; "-I get it. But why did you want us all to meet?"

"Well, uh—um-" All Might cleared his throat as he reached out and gripped Inko's hand.

"This is just fantastic." You replied, leaning back in your seat. "Inko, what ah, what is your last name again?"

"I have recently changed it back to my maiden's name, Minami. It used to be-"

"No-" You waved again, "-that's all I need to know."

"(y/n)-" All Might leaned closer, "-are you alright-?"

"I am doin' great." You laughed, swiping a roll feeling excited for Inko's 'son' to arrive.
